Thank you for posting this. Terrific comedic actor, Planes, Trains and Automobiles Laugh out loud funny and heartwarming at the same time. I can not imagine a better co-star to Steve Martin in that movie. I mean it's epic-awesome. Some people only get 43 years to leave a mark on Earth and some manage to make the most of it. Thank you John Candy.

 I was about 11 and helping my Dad in the garage, when I heard a man on the radio say John Candy passed away. I remember it was one of the first time I cried out of pure sadness. I grew up watching John and he really did seem like all our uncle.

As a kid growing up in the 80's I saw a number of his films - Armed and Dangerous, Uncle Buck, Planes Trains and Automobiles etc. He was a genuinely nice and incredibly funny guy. Whenever I want to feel good and lift my spirits.....I stick on one of his classic films. Nice tribute video.....

Whenever I think of John Candy, I always see this wonderful man with a huge beaming smile on his face, he always just seemed to be happy, and always lightened things up. My favourite characters he ever played was the wonderful Del Griffith in Planes,Trains and Automobiles, and of course that other lovable rogue, Buck Russell in Uncle Buck. A big man with a big heart and a big smile, who is greatly missed to this day. God love ya John!

one of the best days I ever has was to meet John and his wife rose ...he came into our flower shop to order some flowers for a friends wedding ....they came in many times he always called me Scouse (I am from Liverpool) the saddest day of my life was looking after Rose and her mum doing the flowers for Johns funeral .....God rest big guy !
