  • I've worked on this farm, couple yrs ago, beautiful site

  • I can't speak for all wind farms but will speak of my own experience. I live near a wind farm and don't like it. They do keep you awake at night and as the guy below mentioned they don't turn without wind. I'd say half of the windmills near my house are seldom to never turning and the few that do turn are much louder than wind farm supporters admit. Waste of valuable land and money.

  • @BigTimePride It's too bad people don't want to hear the truth about these land destroying eyesores. I live in Blue Knob right next to this farm & I hate everything about them. I especially hate that they think they can keep people from coming anywhere near the site. I ride atv trails that were there for generations & they put up gates & lay trees down so you can't ride on them & most are no where near the turbines. Green energy my ass. Half the forest is gone just to make room for turbines.

  • i guess there wasn't any wind that day. Like why are they all not turning?

  • The video was made before this wind farm was commissioned, just when construction was completed. They are not turning because the farm was not yet on line.

  • All these demands for Sustainable energies are going to make the prices of power increase dramatically... is that ok with everyone... and so what about another coal plant... its much more efficient to put up then a nuclear.

  • So when are they going to turn these things on so they generate some wind?! LOL

  • Its really cool to be able to see these from above. I am able to see about 8 or 9 of the windmills from where I work, but its really cool to see them from above.

  • Nice Video, there are more windmills up now, another fly over video would be great!

  • They do NOT clear out 5 acres of forest per turbine. Do some research, possibly call Gamesa, and talk to them before you go blabbling randomly about what you don't know.

  • Do you have electricity in your home? If you do then shut up...this is far, far less impactful than coal fired energy...period.

Next you'll start blathering silly anti-wind garbage about "sun-flicker syndrome". It's people just like you who hold up real enviromental and energy independence progress in America. I've worked in a number of coal fired plants...how many have you set foot inside of? It's obvious you have NO idea. Do some more research besides the crap your being fed from ur cult.

  • What evidence do you have to back up claim that wind turbines actually will reduce the tons of air pollutants (NOx or SO2) emitted each yr by coal-fired power plants. None! Conservation, energy efficiency, nuclear power - these are all much more cost-effective and environmentally preferable ways to reduce America's dependence on fossil fuels used to generate electricity. Seems ur the one doing all the "blathering", spreading "silly garbage" & making up arguments to support your simple views.

  • Why compare to coal? Besides, that's crap Mansfield is 2500 MW when at 100%. Why don't you tell us how much coal they burn at 100% genius. Mt.Storm is 1650MW and they burn 600 tons an hour at 100%, how much forest do you figure they clear to get that coal? Didn't think about that...did you? Maybe you'd like to compare CO2 or NOX oputputs..or any other of a myriad of chemicals which are severely harmful to the enviroment. Bring up those ?'s at ur next anti-wind cult meeting. Get real.

  • I think this vid should be a promo vid for how nice a Wind Turbine Plant can be installed. Pics would be great. I have been there quite a few times and have nothing bad to say about them.

  • Great video! I work there and was planning on asking my friend if her brother would be able to take pics from his plane, but video is alot nicer!

I'm not sure where birdandbat is getting his information on the amount of land being cleared, but he needs to consider doing further research using a credible source.

Anyway, thank you Loncella for showing me the perspective I can't see while working, great job!

  • I worked on the project for one of Gamesa's contractors and took many still photos from the air as well. I would be happy to share them.

  • @Loncella do you no rick williams he worked there

  • I think your vids are great work Loncella...No matter what the topic.

  • Very well put together...Thanks for this insight of these giants.
