@vicinteriano I don't know how Lewin does it, but there is a technique of recording drums only with 2 condenser mikes. The first one (large condenser) goes in front of the set, it could be 30 cm to 1,5 meter (experiment to find a good sounding place), at the height of the middle of the big drum. The second mike goes in horizontal position (assuming it has cardioid pattern) over the drummer's head. That is how they recorded drums in 60's.

I mean does every song have to have some prog rock, King Crimson 7/8 time change with 3 key changes and lyrics where you have to break out Webster's to figure out what they're talking about?

The simplicity of this song is part of what makes it good, IMO.

Music tastes are different. I'm sure I like a lot simple songs, those which stick in your head all day long. Example: Jason Mraz - I'm Yours. Uber-simpel song, but such a nice tune. "ISorry, I"m an asshole" is just annoying, even current pop songs, which does have this repetitive thing aren't that annoying. So I'm just going to leave and never come back, since I don't want to spoil the fun of people that does like it.
