You Americans must be the most stupid people alive. You so believe in your free market and capitalism that you turn a blind eye to the ones who suffer.
you must be the stupidest person alive. The free market is what made the smartest people in the world come to America and seek a new shot at life. People like Albert Einstein,Nikola Tesla would have never gotten that chance in their country. America pays 35 billion to charity each year more than any other country in the world. When we do try to help its "NO dont get involved" and when we dont its "were was America???"
chavez , dictator of venezuela , betrayed bolivar and his country , destroys the free press of his country and anyone that is against him, venezuela and the world dont need this. this is a liar and and a thief. he is afraid to let anyone know the truth, why does he doesnt allow the free press...
you like a guy that is a totalitarian , he dont like freedom of speech except for himself , and has shut up the media in the country , he is just a dictator of the worst kind,a thieft liar that hides of what he really is saying that is for the good of the country
if you like chavez you must be living in America not in Cumana venezuela, chavez has taken the liberty and the venezuelan pride. He is a totalitarian that wants to destroy Venezuela. His party has been stealing everything that venezuela had for their own good not for the country . Chavez represents a lie, a big lie and you are buying it , Fuera Chavez de Venezuela!!!
Of course pure Capitalism would destroy the planet, it's only goal is profit, not the envirnonment, certainly not the people
A free market with strong social programs is the only wayt to go if we stick with the monetary system. People need to be free to compete for products, but people also need to be taken care of.
The United states serves big business and private banking, not the people, which is why their country is in the shitter right now.
when someone makes a profit it means they met consumer demand. no one suffers when a profit is made. it is a vital market signal, and if it did not exist we would like in a primitive society.
Really? Because the denim jeans my mother is wearing have probably been made by a person working for 3 grains of rice and a glass of water. So whilst the company who sold my mum the pair of jeans profit from her money, that person is barely staying alive on the other side of the world. Is this not suffering for profit's sake?
Hey blackout, your comment shows your complete ignorance of the free market. When I provide a good or service that someone exchanges money for and it provides me extra money to continue my bussiness and feed my family, who the hell suffers?
There is no such thing as a free market. It is an illusion. By it's very nature it can never be free as it is a system of competition between humans. All governments constantly change from democratic to fascist after which they collapse.
The solution is very simple. We need to quit our childish notions of property and nationalism.
In 80 years from now we will be living in a Resource based Economy as envisioned by Jacque Fresco.
I do enjoy a good act, I do how ever not enjoy his hypocrisy, but I guess we will again see what statisme and central planners bring... After a golf ban, the need to have the military start growing crop's, the end can't be that far off..
Socialism is for those who have no ambition. For sheep that need a shepherd to lead them to their inevitability. To live in little boxes and eat out of their rationed govt provided portions.
Chavez is extremely insecure and jealous of the USA.
Socialism is for those who have no ambition. For sheep that need a shepherd to lead them to their inevitability. To live in little boxes and eat out of their rationed govt provided portions.
Also, what is Chavez doing to improve the world? Oh yeah, the Russians are building him a new weapons plant and Chavez is creating an arms race in South America.
Chavez is extremely insecure and jealous of the USA. He's great at pointing fingers buy he himself has nothing to offer.
Bush Grand Father was arrested three times for making dirty business with the Nazis during War World II; they were selling special gasoline for the combat airplanes. The Nazis killed 10 million people at least but the weapon business during the war killed 50 millon more. Those false heroes are the ones who want to write history and give lessons of democracy; They do not have enough oil but huge debts for at least 200 years; this is why they want to invade to steal natural resources.

For a man who suggests he is about equality and peace he sure spews hate and belittlement. He speaks of the 'great emmiters' without mention of China??

Hugo might have benefited his country but he does not run the rest of the world. Socialism which the US most closely resembles right now removes the incentive to advance. Socialism has a horrible environmental legacy. Smog covered cities where people wait in line for funny two cycle engined cars and everything else. Shortages of food, even famine, irresponsible agricultural practices, destroy the soil, over produce grain but fail to produce enough food. Giant dam projects like the one in China destroy river systems. Meanwhile in the USA less land is needed for agriculture, air is cleaner, water is cleaner, people live longer, there are more forests.
@JDLUTZ2007 Yes obviously there is no variant in the manifestations of socialism. Everything is BAAAAD. Just as USA has killed millions by their trade policies, overtrowing elected governtens (fx 3 mio. in Vietnam, numerous attempts and succeeds in South America, not to mention how corporations kill and exploit people (google Coca cola if in doubt)). The thing is: Only people matters. Thus far USA has only been on it's own peoples side. Killing everyoneelse in the wake.
Chavez is problematic. But is anyone else willing to step up for the people of Venezuela... or is it just about the corporations?
If we ignore the retorics and the demonizing (which goes both ways): He is elected by the people. He has as no other taught the venezuelean population about their rights, their constitution. Would it be better, more fair, to replace him with a puppet of corporate USA?
Pobre Venezuela y a los que lo apoyan se van a arrepentir.....Hizo mierda un pueblo que valia oro. Y pronto seguira con la venta del pais al terrorismo. Que D-os se lo lleve pronto antes de que dañe mas a su gente.
Tell that to Sweden, modern Germany, France, Italy, the UK , Japan, Australia, Canada, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Switzerland. Every nation who's economics and systems, that when anything remotely similar have is approached or proposed it is branded 'socialist'. Like that was the end of the discussion. Socialism is a broad term, it should not be used lightly. Have you ever read "The Primacy of Politics"?
The Venus Project is the way! Jacque Fresco has all this stuff nailed down. If we go the way of The Venus Project then we all win, including our planet!
Adriana, The USA emits more than 5 times the amount of climate gases per person than China does, and India even less. The US is the NR. one polluter, both in total emissions and per person and the country doesn't even take responsibility for it. The USA is destroying the world.
While their is much to consider in adopting socialist principals, they do offer a better alternative to what the world currently has. Globalism exploits the world and divides the profits among a few, it is beyond capitalism, consumerism purely for profit. Without social justice for all we are de facto morally bankrupt.
Chavez eliminated illiteracy in Venezuela within two years - acknowledged by the UNESCO. Is this what you call "destroyed your country" ? Sure, if your life was built upon the blood and illiteracy of the poor - then he did destroy "your" country...
Unlike corporate media is telling you - Communism has never existed on this planet ... yet! But it certainly will! And greed will be replaced by solidarity, hate by love, war by peace.
The world is different than Corporate Media is making you believe.
Hail the courage and the might of President Chavez, the Hero who has the manliness to stand up against the evil of the American and developed world Imperilistic Empire.
Chavez might be inexperienced in politics, economics but its definately best Venenzuala could probablyhave considering the sinister intentions of the North American Empire to re-install puppets like Batista who would agree to lick the Boots of US Presidents, US corporations and the US Mafia.
Why is it that other countries think that the US owes them anything? Why is it that the lack of innovation in other nations is the fault of the US? All countries are NOT equal.. those who allow their ruling class to run their societies in the ground are getting what comes with Socialism and Fascism. Its the nature of putting power into the hands of a few, when it affects many.
Cap and Tax is a crock and an outrageous ploy to raise money that will never matter to the environment in any way.
from this clear speech on..i´ll put more atention to chavez...the speeech didnt appear in main media...just descalñifications of it..but i thnig chavez is rigth on what he said
This man has destroyed my country. He wants all the world to be under someone's thumb, his preferably. There is no freedom in Venezuela unless you agree with him. There are no free and just debates. Chavez has a small mind and an even smaller brain. If China and India had controls on their emissions we wouldn't be having this stupid summit.
One person whoever it is can not do everything to please everyone. He is right about Obama and I campaigned hard for him and glad he won but not glad he bailed banks out again and still wants to fight a useless war on oil not terror and 911 was an inside job.
@Adriana3357 Adriana, the USA emits on more than FIVE TIMES MORE climate gases tper person than China. It is the western world that is mostly responsible for climate change, not China and India. They are still far behind the west when it comes to emissions of climate gases per capita.
Are you one of that small minority of white Venezuelans that destroyed the country and discriminated against the poor brown Venezuelans majority financially, before Chavez took over?
"If China and India had controls on their emissions we wouldn't be having this stupid summit", dats a ridiculous statement, wich only proves your ignorance, stop watching Globovision and FOX NEWS and maybe read a little more before u make such an stupid talk
@Adriana3357 By your reply, you are a thinking person who expresses an opinion. You have access to the web, etc. So I know your not a poor citizen of Venezuela who is just receiving medical care and education for the first time.
@Adriana3357 The fact that you have a computer and are giving critique on Chavez without even one single argument is why your workers won't listen to you anymore. They live in poverty so they are going to change your country.
Ok in which Venezuela do you live? cause the one i know is full of freedom, much more when this guy came to power and winning elections 14 times in a row, go to miami perhaps there you will have more freedom or at least the freedoom that you need! ignorance is universal and can't blame you!
Despite the fact Hugo Chavez is ignored or depicted as a clown by the U.S. media, he made many important and vital points in his address. Capitalism must be replaced by an equitable system of human governance. Thank you, President Chavez, for your courageous and forthright statement at the Climate Conference. Know that many in the U.S. agree with you entirely and would join a socialist revolution today if possible.
I don't quite understand why, if you would prefer to have someone else make your decisions and provide for your every need, why you don't just try out a Socialist country for awhile... I'm sure they would love to have you in Venezuela.
@Cuairtear I respect your opinion, so I will not attack and disparrage you for it. However, I just wanted to add that Socialism has never worked and has always failed, with most of the countries who use it turning into third world nations, like Cuba or Zimbabwe, whose hyperinflation is so bad that 1 trillion of their dollars equals one American penny. The USSR failed, England has an unstable economy which can't sustain itself.
I used to admire Hugo but now know that ignorant or deliberate he is in line with this globalist, communist movement. The US resembles socialism more closely than pure capitalism. High school economics taught us that the free market decides the winners and losers. Not allowing the banks to fail has tampered with this system. Socialism removes the incentive to advance. Capitalism is the most natural system. Corporatism is the real blame as these have effectively toppled our economy.
Wilbur, Washington why dont you come to VENEZUELA and live like everybody else and so you can see really whats happening in this country you are an ignorant mi friend this man is a comunist and a dictator
you must be refering to lenin's totalitarian communism.
socialism=sharing. capitalism=money.
anyway, you see, capitalism enslaves the great unwashed/wage-slaves by its monetary system which creates greed and progressive social stratification. the rich gets richer, the middle class gets phased out, and the poor dies off.
I find your comments very interesting considering that you live in one of the worlds greatest democracies, that has been rated as one of the best places on the planet to live. I'm wondering exactly how many slaves there are in Australia?
actually, they don't provide the jobs, they own them. mankind doesn't need a few rich people to obligate us to work on this or that area, all only because the system needs it. capitalism it's a freedom killer.
Funnny this clown ever does is talk about the US - waht about the fact take he wants people venezuela to shower in less that three minutes,How about the fact that he now wants to control the banking.Wonder how many billions he has put away,How about the fact that now there are rolling balck outs,Yet he wants to point fingers waht a PAYAZO
@6308281 Yes, right. It's so famous that banks in USA are so good, and care about the people. Everybody knows that the FED cares about the little ones... COME ON, how can you compare any country's banks with the one in US?
@6308281 Lets hope he will nationalize the bank. So the money won't go to some rich bussinessmen. By nationalising the banks, he can use those profits in social projects. That's how we used to do it in Europe but thanks to the rich and fake socialists we now have private banks who only think about profit.
@CUinHadies Its politically profitable for him to have some evil enemy far far away that is responsible for all that is wrong in Venezuela and Latin America..
all of you who write against Chavez, it's obvious that you are politic activists allies or employed by the capitalist groups and it's allies, but know that you no fool anyone, the capitalism will soon disappear, because the people aren't stupid, they realize everything, that you steal all the money and control everything maintain them in the poverty and you save yourselves leaving the economy in almost the edge of a collapse just to save your disgusting failures and robbery on banks and companie
steal? that is a little harsh coming from someone who proposes that we should all turn over our entire lives to a small group and hope they don't decide to destroy our country. You know, as Chavez has done to Venezuela? Their basic services are floundering, their people are desperate to see some recovery .. and its NOT COMING.
@pablofsi So your saying anybody who disagrees with Chavez is now being associated as a capitalist groups? Whats wrong with people this days? Do you have to associate a view to somekind of sinister system ?
@pablofsi Buddy, more than 70% of Americans love capitalism. You're living in a lie and were not giving it up, because in capitalism, the INDIVIDUAL has the freedom to make decisions on how to run the business, and even for profit motive, which creates jobs and wealth, and oppurtunity. In a socialist system, you hand your individual rights to the collective, meaning you don't think for yourself. This inevitably leads to death in inovation and sends society back into a dark age.
I strongly disagree with you, but maybe you're right, who knows?...but what i CAN assure you is that CHAVEZ is NOT a socialist, he is one hell of a capitalist actually...Chavez is the one providing oil to the US, that same oil used on WAR in IRAQ, Afghanistan and that same oil that helps pollute our beautiful earth so i suggest you begin looking for another hero..i personally think the Che Guevara was a fucking loser, but at least he was an honest and real one....
As a typical socialist, Chavez is on the side of the dictatorial Taliban and the Alqaeda terrorists they give sanctuary to. A war against the Taliban is "just killing innocent people"---don't hold your breath for him to blast the Taliban for their deliberate murders of civilians which account for most of the civilian deaths in Afghanistan. 9:55 the US has never been involved in any genocide. Chavez' heroes have. BTW, socialist/commie crapholes have never had good environmental records.
Never been involved in genocide? Aside from the fact that American companies did business with Nazi Germany before we entered the war, what about the fucking injuns you moron? How many of those to we have left in the USA? Did Jesus come back to rapture them all, and that's why they're not here anymore?
@RuflessRecords The U.S. is responsible for killing the democratic Taraki regime in Afghanistan just for oil. So the U.S. has put the Taliban on command in Afghanistan. And yes, the taliban are evil, but the U.S. is now killing them and a lots of innocent people because the Taliban wouldn't sell their oil to America as promissed. No, they want to sell on the market. Hugo Chavez is not on their side but understands the problem in afghanistan. Environmental issues are socialist: look at Engels
he's a bully that's jealous of american power. takes advantage of climate discussions to ridicule other powers. do i think obama is greatest, not necessarily but pretty much everything chavez puts out there is to condemn the power of the US while also ridiculing them. too bad Obama is a pushover and won't stand up and speak out to defend.
OMG, unbelievable the comments!! Typical ignorants of who Chavez is, his intentions and the truth behind his words. This is typical Chavez crap, that is, communist crap: blame it on someone else, preferably someone rich, while he does nothing to fight against climate change: cheapest gasoline in the world, no policy or even concern whatsoever in his own country about gas emissions, etc.
No, we are not equal. I am better than you in some ways, you are better than me in others. I can better contribute to society in some ways than you can, and you, me.
@featherian Balls to say the truth? What about the truth of 100 people killed every week on drug mafia wars? Truth about the cheapest gasoline in the world. Truhth about his country not having any concern or policy on gas emmisions.
I would like Chavez to be the U.S. president just for six months to see what would happen. It would be very interesting. More often than not he's right about things.

Adriana, The USA emits more than 5 times the amount of climate gases per person than China does, and India even less. The US is the NR. one polluter, both in total emissions and per person and the country doesn't even take responsibility for it. The USA is destroying the world.

@JDLUTZ2007

What does "equitable system of human governance" mean?
regresseur 2 years ago
I used to admire Hugo but now know that ignorant or deliberate he is in line with this globalist, communist movement. The US resembles socialism more closely than pure capitalism. High school economics taught us that the free market decides the winners and losers. Not allowing the banks to fail has tampered with this system. Socialism removes the incentive to advance. Capitalism is the most natural system. Corporatism is the real blame as these have effectively toppled our economy.

gplhost 2 years ago
@6308281 Lets hope he will nationalize the bank. So the money won't go to some rich bussinessmen. By nationalising the banks, he can use those profits in social projects. That's how we used to do it in Europe but thanks to the rich and fake socialists we now have private banks who only think about profit.

'Hugo Chavez, President of Venezuela, gave an animated speech at the UN Climate....'
I would say he gave an impassioned and courageous speech.
Much closer to the truth than many in the more industrial countries can stomach.
The proposal to Cap and Trade takes an ethical issue and makes it an ecconomic one - C02 as a commodity.
Think sub-prime nations.

steal? that is a little harsh coming from someone who proposes that we should all turn over our entire lives to a small group and hope they don't decide to destroy our country. ohsozen 2 years ago
@pablofsi So your saying anybody who disagrees with Chavez is now being associated as a capitalist groups? Whats wrong with people this days? Do you have to associate a view to somekind of sinister system ?
texas224 2 years ago
What you argue against is FASCISM not true free markets pablofsi. Little do you realize that fascism and socialism work hand in hand.
Many Americans are fighting fascism and yes... Bush fascism AND obama fascism, both are bad. However, socialism is equally terrible.
I strongly recommend you read 'The Law' by Frederic Bastiat for a clearer understanding of natural law.
anyusmoon1 2 years ago
@pablofsi Buddy, more than 70% of Americans love capitalism. You're living in a lie and were not giving it up, because in capitalism, the INDIVIDUAL has the freedom to make decisions on how to run the business, and even for profit motive, which creates jobs and wealth, and oppurtunity. In a socialist system, you hand your individual rights to the collective, meaning you don't think for yourself. This inevitably leads to death in inovation and sends society back into a dark age.
LordoftheKaty 2 years ago
I strongly disagree with you, but maybe you're right, who knows?...but what i CAN assure you is that CHAVEZ is NOT a socialist, he is one hell of a capitalist actually...Chavez is the one providing oil to the US, that same oil used on WAR in IRAQ, Afghanistan and that same oil that helps pollute our beautiful earth so i suggest you begin looking for another hero..i personally think the Che Guevara was a fucking loser, but at least he was an honest and real one....

American defence year cost 700 billion a year for destruction and killing and Obama offers 10 billion per year.

RuflessRecords 2 years ago
Never been involved in genocide? Aside from the fact that American companies did business with Nazi Germany before we entered the war, what about the fucking injuns you moron? How many of those to we have left in the USA? Did Jesus come back to rapture them all, and that's why they're not here anymore?

whoaitstiger 2 years ago
@RuflessRecords The U.S. is responsible for killing the democratic Taraki regime in Afghanistan just for oil. So the U.S. has put the Taliban on command in Afghanistan. And yes, the taliban are evil, but the U.S. is now killing them and a lots of innocent people because the Taliban wouldn't sell their oil to America as promissed. No, they want to sell on the market. Hugo Chavez is not on their side but understands the problem in afghanistan. Environmental issues are socialist: look at Engels
