i just got my 1987 camaro rs running, i took a lt1 350 out of a 1996 ss impala police car that my uncle had and i bolted a 700r with a little work on it. The motor i put a roller cam, lifters, and rockers, alum intake and 650 4 barrel on it and it makes 321 hp when i had it on the dyno in Mobile, Alabama. The body needs paint but car has no dents and NO rust. I'm 18 and it's been my dream car since i seen the first one.
One more thing, If your are going to post and brag about something on a video, learn to take a little criticism from assholes like me. Yep, there are many cars faster and better than even mine. I will enjoy what I have, and you enjoy yours, that's Hot Rodding at its best. If we all liked and drove the exact same thing, life would be pretty boring. I like your car, its looks and sounds great. I just tend to get down on wanna-be mechanics like mrlonelyful who talk shit and know little to nothing.

I hate to burst your bubble, 'Mr. NON-Mechanic", but the 305 carries the same stroke as the 350, a longer stroke than the 327 and the 307. It puked out between 145 hp to 170 hp during its 3rd gen Camaro run. It totally sucks as an engine. If this guy didn't power-brake it, it couldn't have spun the tires, besides, while most people think of spinning the tires as cool, remember, while guys like you are pwr-braking and spinning the tires, I'll be hooked up and at the finish line. Nuff said.

I didn't mean my comment towards you but to mrlonelyful. I have a 3rd gen prostreet camaro with a blown 540, and a prostreet blown '56 bel air, amongst others. Yep I can send you pics, I am not a bullshitter, like mrlonelyful who thinks he actually knows a few things. My Z28 had the worthless 305 which prompted the blown 540. What is worthless to me is someone else's dream, I suppose. I love large HP. The 305 HO 240 hp was a nice combo in the day, just not for me.

dude i have a stock 91 Rs with the 305, with only 35k orig miles, i don't wanna get rid of the 5.0 but its slow as piss, how did you get ur car in the mid 13's thats fuckin fast for a 305, hell my c5 6speed corvette without the nitrous runs a 12.68, id be thrilled to get my RS into the 13's what'd u do to it?
@TunedPort335 Actually TPI335, its a 335, or 334, which ever way you want to call it. Your car is a treasure trove of info for anyone wanting to make a fast 305. 13.4 with stock heads, 2.73 gears and an auto with no power adder IS VERY RESPECTABLE! I will gladly buy the internals from you when you are ready to sell as I am just into restoring with a little more power. It would appear to be numbers matching, but have an edge... the 305 stroker kit is perfect for what I need.
They never really came out with a body kit that looks good on the cars. Alot of them looked way outta place and had lines that don't complment the rest of the car.There was a wide body kit that looked ok.
yeah the transmission doesnt matter, the 700R4 will easily spin both. you need a limited slip diff. i know my 305 has enough to spin both, i dont know about the 2.8 V6, they are pretty weak
not as weak as a 2.8L. by the way, my car is no longer a 305 car, i did a 350 TBI swap a couple months ago. has allot more power now. the 305 can be made a powerful engine, but by the time you spend the money to make it better, a 350 makes more sense.
im bout to swap a t5 out of a v6 camaro the same yr of mine, to go with my 305, but if things go right i will replace tranny and engiine when i get 454 built.
