Its sad how most any pro sport the day you test positive for drugs is the day you are suspended, YET in baseball you won't hear they test positive til end of the season or years later after they broke some record or won a championship. It really taints the teams full of players that are playing without the use of drugs and lose to the juiced up team.

There's only a few big name free agents they "bought," like Manny and Schilling. For every Beckett there's several guys like Ellsbury or Pedroia or Ortiz: brought up through the farm, or castoff free agents.
Look at their All-Star Roster this year: Beckett was a big free-agent signing, and Bay was for Manny, but Youk and Paps were drafted, and Wakes was a cheap FA after Pittsburgh released him.

you can say what you want but your forgetting the Yankees were a steroid dynasty from the late 80's and into the the early 2000's. yes they may have won the most world series' ever but in every single season they won it all they had the highest payroll in baseball by a long shot (the second closest team in payroll was below HALF of the Yankees payroll)
