  • Bravo Alexander, this is one of the best live performance i ever heard of this difficult etude. it reveals not only technical skill but , far more, mature musicality and deep artistic sensibility.

  • @xcomposerpianistx What a nice comment. Thank you so much!

  • very good control and technique. nice!!

  • this is such a beautifully musical performance...i feel that you can listen to this performance of the etude in the way you would listen to one of the nocturnes.

  • @pianoenthusiast11 Thank you for this compliment. This etude is so much more than just a finger exercise.

  • great performance, very good teachnique, but i would prefer stronger accents

  • Per errore ho votato "non mi piace" ! Chiedo scusa, è invece una splendida esecuzione... bravissimo

  • @HANNIBAL1936 Grazie per aver dedicato del tempo per rendere il vostro bel commento!

  • Sometimes I find the recordings of lets just say not so well known musicians (No offense) to be better than the great masters Richter, Cziffra, etc etc. I find your legato to be one of the finest, and that is exactly what we need in Chopin. He stressed legato more than the notes itself and I think you did a wonderful job doing what he did best. On musical aspects I can hear a clear and original well thought out interpretation. I wish you the best of luck in your career.

  • @Martel211996 Thank you, Richard!

  • sounds just like ashkenazy 0:27

  • I like it because u are so quiet

  • Wow ! That's too nice !! I'm proud of you my friend !!

This piece is so beautiful by playing it with this speed :)

Good luck always :) Best regards

  • Wow !! That's too nice !! I'm really proud of you my friend !!

This piece is very beautiful by this speed :)

Good luck always :) Best regards

  • Wow! You have BIG hands!

  • Not that big, just able to reach well.

  • Cleveland Int'l Piano competition? I thought there's only Harry's Diner and Sally's Coffe house in Cleveland

  • Absolutely wonderful interpretation.NOT jus t fast and loud. You are by far one of the great artists i have heard. And i have heard many. Allbest at this Holiday time.

    Muriel Schnierow

  • wow he looks EXACTLY like Jose Carreras when he was young.

  • I like how he finds the accents and melody n right hand.Good tempo .Making music not too brash . I wonder if I should not make my basses the driving element here. I try so many diff touches with this etude. thanks for posting this.

.Chopin was so smart arpeggio then a new way to play chromatic scales then just the most beautiful melody in e.He obviously wanted to make some points about thepiano, hands and music itsel.these etudes are like a philosophy of music withop.28.

  • Wow wow wow! :) Definitely one of the best performances of this piece, if not the best!

  • Thank you so much!

  • You make this look so easy man. Great control! I have so much trouble with this etude. Interesting you performed this at the Cleveland 2001... I've been listening on the radio here to the 2009! hehe

  • wow... I love it =).

  • Very nice performance and beautiful piece. I ejoyed it a lot.

  • Sometimes people just focus on the technical difficulties of this Etude, but I also think there is a lot of beauty to it. Thanks for your comment!

  • dang man this is so smooth. this is so calm, especially in the begining. excellente job well done!!!! i love this interpitation. excelente sounding piano. diffenitly added to my favs! i acnt tell yo uhow much i love your legato and playing!!!

  • Wow, thank you so much! I appreciate your comment about the legato.

  • I think the fingering in 0:46 until 0:56 looks very different in comparison to other videos but anyway good playing =)

  • Yes, I made some changes to vary the hand motion a little. Thanks for your comment!

  • you know what i like about how you play this? you focus on its grandeur and the music itself, not just for showmanship or showing off tech. i personally like this interpretation.

  • Thx for sharing :smooth, soft rendition.

About your look personally I'd mainly be spotted on the music .....:):)

Besides, you were ok for a competition...

  • Thank you.

  • is this a cravat? Never seen a pianist playiing with cravat, looks strange, somehow a contradiction to the emotionality of this piece.... apart from that good job

  • I actually agree with you about the tie. This video is from a performance in a piano competition, so most of the men were wearing suits and ties. Thanks for the comment!

  • I liked your playing! It was fluent an the speed was just right.

    Happy New Year)))

  • Nice work Alex.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

    In tune

    Lalita
