I heard they regard themselves as a heap of potatoes, and in english dictionary they found "clamp" means a pile of potatoes.

Nokoru's family name " IMONOYAMA " might be derived from here, too. (imo-no-yama; imo = potato, no = of, yama = heap/mountain) The spelling in Japanese is different, but pans/ has same sound.
