  • Your 09 ford escape doesn't get almost 40 mpg highway

  • My 09 Ford Escape is faster than this. I don't get it.

  • For a 1.5L......wow.

  • Use the paddles!!

  • You said 0-60

    Not 0-60+10

  • @Derrick021594 have you posted that same comment on different videos? im pretty sure hes explained this like 10 times already...haha its not that hard to figure out why he did that

  • my grandmas scooter chair has better acceleration than this piece of shit

  • YES! What a Sports car!

  • so much RPM and low speed (o.0) my Nissan Versa (Tiida) 2011 gets 80 km/h at 2nd shift arround 5500 RPM

  • @jamdvx EDIT: good speed... maybe 6000 RPM is too much but is goodie

  • @jamdvx 6000 isnt enough i want 8500!

  • @jamdvx Shifts? with a cvt! Unless u have a manual

  • Somewhat quick, considering the size of the engine.

  • lol honda

  • My stopwatch is around 10s

  • @zeejob

slower than the auto nissan versa.

  • way to almost redline it

  • 5AT?0-100km 0-60mph 12s?

  • ms3 ftw :)

  • How Are You Getting All Of These Cars???

  • @cbonardy All of our review vehicles come to us through the standard media channels.

  • @mpgomatic

In other words, you just visit local dealers posing as prospective customers... ;-)

  • @six6wings Nope. We never go to the dealers. These are press fleet vehicles. We deliver more eyeballs than many publications ...

  • @Seadgaranovic you're stupider, you bit the stupid bait

  • A/T?!!!

  • it took 10 seconds for the honda to hit 60, thats pretty depressing yo

  • It seems about as quick (or slow, actually) as a 1984 Buick 2.5L Skylark video I saw on here a few minutes ago.

  • 31 seconds? that's slow.

  • I have a 94 grand marquis, mind you that's a HUGE CAR, that does 0-60 in about 9

  • not bad for a lil shitbox lol

  • I love how the MPG went down by 3/10 of a mile in about 16 seconds. =p

  • OMG, is this thing street legal?

  • @SL8WR Only in Hawaii where the speed limit never exceeds 60mph.

  • I dont really like the Fit, would much rather have a Yaris. Espeacially since for the base price of a Fit, I can get a decently equiped Yaris!!

  • @Motorfordtoyota both really badly rated for crash tests..

  • @TJDeadkid No, they do worse against larger vehicles, but that have good ratings from the IIHS.

  • @Motorfordtoyota 90% of vehicles are bigger then the fit and yaris...

  • @TJDeadkid to be honest I wouldnt have either. Id have a Mustang/Camaro, Silverado/F150/Tundra, Malibu/Camry/Taurus, or Cruze/Corolla.

  • @Motorfordtoyota But the cruze/corrola/ whatever you just said has i think either a 1.6 or 2.0 and up :) and plus they are more expensive.

  • @Bomchilaka Lets see, Mustang 5.0, Camaro 6.2. Silverado 5.3, F150 5.0, Tundra 5.7. Malibu 2.4, Camry 2.5, Taurus 3.5 twin turbo. Cruze 1.4 turbo, Corolla 1.8.

  • @TJDeadkid make it 95 lol

  • If I was forced to buy one, I would throw a "Fit"!

  • I like how it was getting 10 - 15 MPG At WOT going 70. Niccee :D

  • That was like 10 seconds. Seems like the Fit is a little out-of-shape.

  • i want your job

  • @lenyczdetoxl I don't have a job ... plenty of work, but no job. :)

  • @mpgomatic Best line ever

  • @OfficerSheepDog Thanks!

  • It's like 10 sec

  • my cars speedo looks like that when im just cruising.....

  • it will be a good race between the fit and prius

  • that was fast BEFORE it reach 40

  • I'm sorry, but 0-60 in 14 secs. is fast?

  • @VenetianIsle 14 seconds? That was about 10..

  • @VenetianIsle wasnt 14 seconds....and for a 15000 dollar car...ya its pretty good....ive got the base model in manual and personally ik i could beat his time but its not like a performance car or anything

  • @Zac147147 i got my 94 gt for 3 grand and its pritty bad

  • thats a fast little car

  • @DizzyMan24 hardly...

  • vtec just kicked in!!!!

  • @Hmongpersononly yep, @ 4.5k

  • Nothing like sleep inducing acceleration!

  • So is the auto 1.5 fit faster than the auto 1.8 civic?

  • So is the auto 1.5 fit faster than the auto 1.8 civic?

  • vtech sounds so good!

  • The point of this video is... if you want a mpg-efficient car, look at this. If you want to actually ENJOY driving, don't bother with a Fit.

0-60 in 10.2 seconds... I think a 12 year old on a bike can get better timing.

  • @MarineHawk117 a 12 year old would not have the strength to do 30 mph lol, even 20 or 15 :D

The fit is a great car for the money. What do u expect from a fit lol It isn't meant for performance. At least it is faster then a Yaris :)

  • Well, I think it would really depend on what kind of dog was chasing him. A poodle would get about 15 mph outta him. A pitbull could push him to 30...

Heh, seriously though, don't take me seriously.

  • @MarineHawk117 hahahaha lol i was just joking :)

  • Now if a cheetah was after his ass, we'd be talking a good 45 mph.

Not that it would last long. You know, a cheetah weighs about 160 lbs, has a top speed of 60-75 mph, and can achieve 0-60 in under 2 seconds, I think.

Think about that, fastest car in the world, the Bugatti Veryon, which costs millions, gets beaten by a wild animal.

Gives you some perspective on speed, cause the real badass of hauling ass isn't human.

  • @MarineHawk117 I never knew a cheetah could do 0-60 in 2 seconds. Actually the Buggati won't be beaten because the Buggati's top speed is 253 mph when a cheetah's top speed is about 70 mph lol So the Buggati will win in a long distance race but in a short distance race, the animal will win loooooooool. You have a good point there :D

  • @MarineHawk117

You just KNOW Top Gear's gonna try to disprove that.

  • They should. I'd love an episode like that. That would also be a good way for Jeremy to destroy a car he hates... Toss a goddamn cheetah in the cabin.

  • @MarineHawk117 youre not quite right there. the initial second or so of a cheetah's sprint is faster than pretty much any car, yes. but after that, it slows down significantly.

  • @MarineHawk117 i can run faster than a cheetah with my legs tied behind my back

  • @MarineHawk117 bugatti veryon FASTEST(AS IN TOP SPEED) car in the world not the QUICKEST (AS IN ACCELERATION)

  • @MarineHawk117 Though the Cheetah may be able to pop that in two seconds... I'd really like to see that tiger going what, 200 miles an hour? Good luck Mr. cheetah man :D

  • @MarineHawk117 Gets beaten? What are you talking about? Unless the track was about 30 feet long I don't think the cheetah would beat a damn thing, just take off faster.

  • @MarineHawk117 GOOD IDEA!

i'll ride a cheetah to school then

  • @MarineHawk117 i dont know of any other species going supersonic, or out to other planets at 1000000000000000 mph

  • @MarineHawk117, well said sir :)

  • @MarineHawk117 Buggati Vayron would win, because the cheetah will get very tired and the buggati will reach 267 mph....

  • @ballader1 SS.

    the original Bugatti is 253

  • @Drifter9020 Yes, I was talking about the SuperSport (SS) version.

  • @MarineHawk117 Does the cheetah has air conditioning and radio too?

  • @frank3c03 In Grand Theft Auto it does!! :D

  • thanks for the responce

  • i bet you have fun flooring these cars dont you??? plz answer...

  • @GeRmANpWR52 - But of course. :) It's all part of the documentation process. The highway mileage testing is quite redundant, driving the same loop over and over. The 0-60 testing is challenging, as we usually only take three stabs at it.

  • how accurate is the mpg meter?

  • @mextijuas

lol, I never saw it move?

  • @nine9sixSPS At the beginning, it was at 35. Then it was at 34. It moved :D

  • @LazBro123 Sorry, I meant it started at 33.5 then moved to 33.4

  • @nine9sixSPS At the beginning, it was at 33.5. Then, in the middle, it was at 33.4. It moved :D

  • 0-60: 10.1 sec

  • This is the only car in it's class (Scion Xd, Toyota Yaris, Nissan Versa etc.) that actually sounds like it has a V6, when it has 4 cylinders

  • 9 sec is pretty great for an automatic 110-ish hp car.Besides, get a 5 speed one, intake, header, exhaust, all your little bolt ons for less than a few grand and this is a 15 sec car all day.these are nice cars, and really light for their size (2300lbs).I really like them.and you gotta love the vtec turbo ultra power boost at what 3500 rpm? is honda turning the vtec on at lower rpms now to make theyre gas mpg cars seem faster lol.

  • or you could just trade it in for a MUSTANG...hellsssss yea!!!

  • @bigdog5986 oh man,a mustang, never thought of that.hell I dont even know anyone who owns a mustang,I mean theyre so rare and no one modifies them....

  • I do the run in 8 seconds flat,2009 auto sport,78k miles,syn.oil,k&n air filter,texaco or shell gas(87octane)manually shift with paddles at 6900 not 6500.

  • 0-60 in 9 seconds isn't that bad at all for a small 1.5 liter automatic.

  • @talldude123 Yeah, it sure is. The 0-60 time is exactly in 9.7-9.8 seconds :)

  • not only that but VW's are pricey when it comes to parts after your warranty is up

  • not bad for a toy car

  • thats what im saying lol

  • toy car?...this puts ALOT of cars to shame...for value ..reliability...cargo space....you are an idiot dude....mpg...resale value....drivetrain

  • @coandcaiv

Well you're entitled to your opinion, even if it's an idiotic one.

  • @coandcaiv

and besides, what could this car possibly put to shame? The Chevy Aveo? Oooooh, big accomplishment! You talk like it's some kind of BMW. Retard!

  • @coandcaiv

Um, retard, by even attempting to compare a Honda to a BMW you only reveal your ignorance. Let alone the fact that you put an apostrophe in "Hondas."

  • @coandcaiv

OK, car genius, whatever you say...

  • yup you're damn right ;)

  • Your so right. I'm really thinking about getting this car. The Accord Sedan is nice but it's too much and everyone seems to freakin have one, the Crosstour is UGLY, the civic is too small for me, I want a Honda, yea i think i answered my own question. lol. Do you have this car?

  • no i do not have a fit...but i do own an accord...and if you are looking for a city car...the fit is the way to go....if you do more highway traveling a civic would be a lil better.....long distance .traveling?....the accord or insight maybe civic sedan..

  • @ghostangel13 a civic is too small, but your gonna get a fit? um...... ok?

  • @matman142 You dumb prick the civic IS smaller interior wise. The cargo space on the civic sucks, and I feel like my head is hitting the ceiling of the car. In the fit theres alot more room in the interior believe it or not. ALOT more room! Do your research first.

  • if you have one you have the other so getting them both high is the question for car makers (torque/horse power)

  • Really not a bad 0-60 time for an economy car. Idk if I would drive it though, look up the crash test video Accord vs. Fit, self explanitory.

  • That's not bad for an auto fit at all. A lot better than the GD3.

Amazing people don't understand the relationship between torque and horsepower, and how angular velocity comes in. Torque tells you where the engine is most efficient, and horsepower tells the engineers how well they can gear the transmission to multiply that torque.

If an engine makes the same amount of torque at a higher rpm, horsepower is proportionally greater, and more rpm allows shorter gears and GREATER WHEEL TORQUE.

  • abort, aabort your mission. Dat-dam-car-is-slower -then-a-stagecoach-pulled-by-a-mule........... :)

  • @ufohunterdude so true

  • 11 seconds ,damn my 88' f-150 with the 300 I6 does the same.

  • good truck. i have a 99' with the 5.4

  • its a damn good truck ,i cant kill that 300, lol

  • absolutely, it's notorious for being tougher than nails.

  • i love the cluster display of the new fits. looks awesome!

  • @boardskins : cars like the Honda fit ARE amazing. They can deliver over 35 MPG, are incredibly well designed, and still manage to avoid being too slow. The Fit is a C&D 10best, one of the highest awards in the automotive industry. So ya - Amazing.

  • @boardskins C&D has tons of GM ads. 84 Kcar? Seriously? "Revolutionary front wheel drive!" ...

  • Toyota's ad budget is twice that of GM's. Honda's is much higher, as well. Oh, and my '84 gets better gas mileage, too. Fail.

  • @boardskins kcar drivers don't get to declare fail.

  • couldnt have said it better.. i still drive a V-8

  • Wow you guys should just stop fighting and appreciate the effort that was put into demonstrating the cars ability to accelerate and noise levels.

  • @JoeMommaRox Everybody fights about the Honda Fit.......A fit means a fight,,,,,,No wonder hahahahahah

  • You said it's not just about torque. Without torque you have an engine that will not even start up. You need torque for everything. The starter, you need to apply torque to the key to even turn the ignition, the crankshaft needs to create torque to keep the pistons moving.

You didn't say it didn't matter, you're right, but you said it's not all about torque. When torque is what makes horsepower measureable.

  • @kcole939

most people dont know that torque is more important than horsepower

  • You can say that again. Most people think "horsepower" is a completely different way of powering a car.

  • @shaochiavang

That's an opinion, not a fact.

  • @MagicSeal

its fact man, im not gon lie to you

  • Yeah, see, as I understand it, horsepower, among other things, determines how fast your can can go and torque is how quickly you get there. Torque may be well and fine, but there's no definitive fact that either is more important than the other. Both are important in various applications.

  • @MagicSeal

yeah, but tq is like, 10Xs more important, without TQ, idk how ur gon move

  • The Fit has too much engine noise. LOUD!

  • i counted 11 seconds man i hate this car

  • ahahahahhhaa me too!!

  • I like the VW TDI because of it's high quality fit and finish, and has a big car feel, except when you stomp on it, then it takes off like a RICER!

  • @jackpontiac52 yeah right.... look at the video this guy has of the tdi doing 0-60, its in the 9's which is barely better than this fit..... suck. and vw's are not reliable at all

  • Nothing like the SOLID FEEL of a GERMAN CAR.

    236 ft/lbs of torque @ 1750-2500RPM's Redline is 4500RPM.

Top gear all the way through a mountain road! And still get 50mpg. Also the '09 is on the recommended list.

  • vw's are amazing and unless you have facts dont call them unreliable. cuz they are reliable. they have great engines, transmissions, ride quality, interiors, steering, mpg, and everything else. do you know vw owns audi, porsche, bugatti, and bentley right?

  • Cool story bro.

Being a luxury brand never stopped Mercedes from screwing over Chrysler.

VW makes quality but reliability lacking cars when it comes to North American standards. There is a reason they rank below the industry average in RELIABILITY SURVEYS (be it CR,JD, or whatever).

  • honda jazz + hayabusa motor + turbo = byebye corvette.

  • A Hayabusa "motor" running race gas and over 600 horses will power a Hayabusa to 253 miles per hour. A Honda Jazz has a drag coefficient of .47, a C6 Corvette has a drag coefficient of .28, and will reach nearly 200 miles per hour, stock.

A Hayabusa engine simply will not provide enough torque to push a car with a horrible drag coefficient such as the Honda Jazz far enough to say "byebye" to a Corvette.

  • nope its not all about torque.look at its power to weight ratio its got more p to w ratio.

  • Are you stupid? If you're going to bother replying to me, in an attempt to tell me what's what, at least get the basics of engines down, and exactly what "power" is.

    Horsepower = Torque X Engine RPM / 5,252.

There is simply a point where an engine may be making too much "horsepower" from factoring in overall RPM's, and not enough force behind that work being done over time.

I also couldn't care less about power to weight ratio, we were discussing speeds of 200+ MPH. Aerodynamics matter.

  • Here's a nice example, works a lot better for the situation.

A Cummins ISX has an advertised horsepower of 385-600 horsepower, varies due to different engines in the line. They also have torque ratings of 1,450 - 1,850 FT.-LBS of torque. New Peterbilt 389 Semis have these engines, and they are fully capable of hauling 120,000 POUNDS.

Now, stuff a turbo Civic engine into that truck, maybe around a good 600-650 "horsepower", watch it not even move, then tell me torque doesn't matter.

  • my grandmother can run faster

  • i like steering very very easy to use, not weight

  • whheres the vtec kick

  • There is no kick when you have a very underpowered engine in that heavy of a car!

  • you dont know how vtec kicks do you?

any liter any weight it will still kick will make the intake and fuel input higher...

even the i-vtec in honda jazz does

  • Well, it doesn't look like the "kick" is doing much good then and with a higher fuel input, wouldn't it get worse gas mileage?

  • @09204418448 do you know hw the vtec works in one of these motors? I DO!! i build them al day :)

  • @madnessknight2010 was i askin you?! that was a comment response. dumbass

  • get a corvette man

400 HP and close to 30 MPG

  • yeah if you baby it ALL the time, and actually drive 65 on the highway.

If you have a 400+hp corvette there is no way you are driving it slow.

It's just their way to lure retards like you who think a V8 will get bomb ass gas mileage. lol. Corvette is my all time favorite car and I am in the process of buying one, but if you really think it averages 30mpg you got some shit to work on in your head bro. My girfriends Dad just got a 2010 Camaro SS and he BABY's it and it gets about 14.

  • FWIW, I put two hundred miles or so on a 2010 SS and was able to average highway mileage in the mid-twenties, no problem ... cruise control set on 68 MPH. Around town, with a lot of stop and go, it's thirsty, no doubt about that. It all depends on when, where, and how you drive.

  • What does "FWIW" stand for? And the SS is very very thirsty, but 20+ on the highway is not bad at all. Gets better mileage than my 3400cc tacoma!!! and it has 2 more cyclinders and a hell of a lot more CCs

  • FWIW = "For What It's Worth"

  • gotcha thank you.

  • Oh wow, cool. You have to push your engine to its limits when you get on the highway or go up a small incline. Forget this car.

  • you should mexican rig that honda......

take off the muffler and get half a horse power from it!

  • hahaha yeah you´re right, im mexican and they (people with a chevy or powerless cars)do that

  • a Hondo?lol

  • its a nice car yes but honda should reaaaly stop putting engines smaller than my lawn mower in their cars. 1.5L? cmon...

  • bahahah i agree lmao, i have a honda lawn mower though hahah

  • weeeeeeeeeeee WAAAAAAAAAAAA
