Thank You, Calvin Jones! am pleased to have another favorable comment. The Igneous Rock show isthe most viewed of my 28 YouTube shows: 9,776 hits as of today.
Thank you calvinjones: I am content to have another favorable comment on the Igneous Rock slideshow.. It is the most viewed of the 28 I have posted. As of today 9,765 'hits'.
Dear StOnehinge: peridotite is a granitoid, coarse-grained igneous rock with olivine, pyroxene and other ferromagnesian minerals but always with little or no feldspar. Usually found in dikes or other small intrusive bodies. It s classed as ultramafic and presumably is formed in the outer mantle of the earth. Thank you for your favorable comment. Kind words make the effort worthwhile. My snail show is proving difficult to complete as I would like it to be accurate and up to date..
00:35, isn't peridotite a rock?until now i've never seen the issues you are talking about here, presented elsewhere, more acurately than you do.i enjoyed watching your movie and reading your personal comments.thank you for posting!
I have one comment saying that 'You have a good storytelling voice and the classic music helps too'.And another one that wished I could read aloud to him?her?. De gustibus non disputandem est, I am 96. If you live that long maybe your voice will become cracked too.
Dear jrbacke61: I could have been a grandpa but am not. Anyhow, thank you for the kind words. I am working on the snails now, having completed a run through of microfossils and am skipping some important animals with radial symmetry that have many fossil representatives along with some extinct forms like the graptolites. Maybe I'll live long enough to get back to them after I complete the Mollusca, Cheers!
The age given in your column is 18.If in fact you are only 18 your outlook is nevertheless completely adult and expresses a philosophical outlook that I think is far beyond your years. If you are 30 then it is less remarkable but it is still a very balanced and mature view of what you are given life for. I helped map the largest oil field in the world, Ghawar, and wrote the recommendation for drilling Abqaiq. Whether those fields have helped humanity is questionable, I was just 24.
Thank you very much for your time and effort in making this video, it is quite excellent, once again thank you Sir. Also I think I will be reading your book on the rise of the Saud family. I wish you a long healthy, and content life sir.
Thank you for your favorable opinion of my efforts. It makes the hard work of making the slide shows worthwhile. At 94 I am fairly sure that the remainder of my time here will not be very long and contentment is a relative concept.
Thank you for your reply. I do agree that contentment is relative, nonetheless I believe for you to have strength, willpower, and patience to take out of your private time, to contribute to global society, with these lecture videos is something that to me resembles some form of contentment. You have enough idealism at your age to still care and not be filled with apathy, I have to say I find it quite remarkable. At only 30 years old, I would wish for me to be as perseverant at 94 as you are now.
You have a good storytelling voice and the classic music helps to.
There was a few times early in the video where it felt a bit quick with the change of pictures, but again it's understandable when put into a relative short video.
The final thing I'd like to add as a suggestion for future videos, would be the option of subtitles. (granted if one miss a word it can always be rewatched)
though I suppose that would be more for larger videos or dvds.
