About 3 years ago I had 2 Indiana Bats (Brown Bats) in my house, both were caught & released. Never in my 23 years here have I had this happen. Since then I've had 6 or more in the house just recently the 25th,I've become pretty good at capturing them but also still nervous when they are in the house. They are roosting in my attic & I have no way of getting them out, a few seem to enter the house via cracks.I have a few videos, one is a bat flying around the others are me releasing after caught.
My previous post is merely info but I do have a question(s) that maybe you can help with: How can I lure them out if I'm able to get to them? Will a momma bat roost in the same place as the previous year? Will a bat be a repeat offender (so to speak)? How many females will normally be in a maternal colony? Do females & males roost together?
Right now I haven't the funds to call for bat removal so I'm dealing with them as they enter the house. Thanks 4 your time!
i recently was attacked by one and the other day i was walking and literally i heard atleast thousands of these in trees btw i live in lancaster,ca by the rosmand caves and i never seen one till it attacked me bats are facinating i think i might study them more now but be more protective
@cripplemind661 You're mistaken because bats do NOT attack humans. Most of them eat bugs or fruits. So if it was "attacking" you it was simply flying around your head getting mosquitos, etc. Bats are pretty harmless and VERY beneficial for the environment.
@Ferretocious I gotta say, while bat behavior might be well documented, where I live the bats literally DO come down, have dive-bombed my dogs and even people in my own backyard
@arkanglegeibriel AGAIN, they DON'T attack people or pets. You're only thinking they are. Why would they when they eat INSECTS??? So stop perpetuating the idiotic notion that bats are evil/aggressive/etc/etc. EDUCATE yourself.
@cre8ivmind I didn't say there wasn't. What I sad was bats were the only species with their own Order. As opposed to dogs (Canines), for example, that share Carnivora with Felines, Ursines, etc.

@treetopteresa In Florida I had a pair living in a Palmetto Palm Tree out back. They ended up having a baby. Omg cutest thing EVER. It was so tiny and it's echolocation calls were so high pitched. As he (she?) got bigger the three of them would race around after eachother. They got so used to me being out there they'd come SO close. I'll have to email you some of the pics I got of them which was NOT easy! They're SO fast!

There are dozens of mammal orders, actually. :)
Chiroptera is the second largest order of mammals, with 900+ species, next to Rodentia, which has 2000+ species.

@cre8ivmind And there's 26 orders of Mammals, not dozens. You should have seen that when you copied and pasted the other facts ;)

@Ferretocious I see what you're saying now. But I knew the number of species without looking it up.

We used to have bats fly into my parents house when I was a kid. (due to no screens) We always go out in moms yard and watch them.
