Chet was ice, playing a fretted instrument! Smooth, powerful, graceful, twangy and sassy, with a hint of playfulness, even in the presence of his genius!
I love this piece. There's a lot going on in there, even for the more traditional of Chet's guitar playing fans .... great arpeggios and pull offs. I've often wondered how his playing would have developed had he not been responsible for the recording careers of other artists at the RCA Nashville studios. If he only had his own career to think about.
@emjaybee63 I've thought about that too. Chet would have had more time for his guitar, and it's a sure bet we would probably have a good dozen or more Chet record albums to marvel at.
But as it was, he was unselfish, always wiling to help others climb the ladder. The story of how he got Charley pride through the door is classic
He admitted that because of his producing schedule his guitar had been neglected, yet,he STILL managed to master every genre of music that is worth listening to.
@blueagate Lots of folks don't like the things he recorded in his latter career, but he was experimenting, trying to do something different to keep his fans interested and also to please the new record label. I guess Chet had a fine line to walk.
@daffydoug Well its their loss for not being open enough to listen to something new. Shoot Johnny Cash revitalized his career when he began playing with rock players. He sounded damn good with them too.

Kind of jazzy in a way but I like it. Chet never did a bad track in his life.
