Saw this last night. Read the crirics online this morning.... I don't get it. A criminally underrated film. Perhaps it just touched something in me it didn't manage to reach in the critics - in the critics I've just read, at least.

It's the best film I've seen in ages, one of few that has stayed with me this deep into the morning after. Great script, direction, soundtrack, casting & performances. F*%k the critics.

At the end he returns to England with a very powerful ending!

I tried to post the link to the song, but I guess that is not allowed. I believe it's STRING TALE. If you google it, there is a beautiful youtube video of it set to pics of a frozen landscape. People say he didn't evolve, but that was the point! It was about self-realization and reflection. How circumstances can alter one's life forever. And how, in hindsight, life often doesn't go the way we would had imagined, or maybe even wanted. But you come to terms with it. Priceless ending.

I thought this was kind of a sub-par movie. Don't get me wrong, I think the acting was great. I absolutely love Harry Eden (teenage Joe) and think he is an extremely powerful actor who will go far, but even the best acting can't completely fix a somewhat weak story, but that aside, was actually a pretty good movie. I'd definitely watch it again, if nothing more than to see several shots of Harry Eden's ass (and one very surprising glimpse at his balls)

I fell asleep around halfway throughout the film, around the time *SPOILERS!!!* young Daniel Craig ran away from the funeral. I woke up when the song started playing at the end (before the credits), and I was mesmerized once again by it's beauty and magical use at the end.

Great movie on it's own (without the music track) too, although I personally didn't find anything outstanding, I still really enjoyed it.
