Yeah ok he IS call archer but you know IRL archers used hand and half swords which pretty much only they could use because of the strenghth required which they gain from a life time training to shoot bows. So they had to be competant sword fighters 2!

@charly5rsf Actually, he never uses his bow in Fate, it was the whole idea that he was completely unique, the anime directors tagged it on since they thought an Archer without using arrows was pointless. However, in UBW, he uses his bow several times, supporting Saber during the Berserker fight, attacking Caster with arrows, raining arrows down on the Holy Grail to open a path for Rin to escape.

i know this is a spoiler but for those wondering why Archers skin is dark instead of white like shiro's its because he used strenghened his skin to make himself stronger thats how he can fight on par with other servants even tho he isn't a actual hero just a normal human (other than the fact he has the Reality marbel)

a friend told me that archer was a character from the future, so theres no data of who is him, and thats why he says at the beggining of the story that he forgot who was him, because he dont want to change the future.

He actually did want to change the future. He came to the past in order to kill himself to create a time paradox in an attempt to remove him from his position as a counter-guardian. since being a guardian conflicts with his ideals yet he's forced to work as one for all eternity.

i have to agree with mijomaster, when i first saw this i was amazed at how good archers English was compared to just about every single other "english" i had heard in anime up to that point. mind you i wasnt very good at english myself at that point but i still think its among the best english in an anime to this date.

It sounds better in this version then the english dub though because it holds more importants when you change languages, not just deepening your voice and changing the music lol.
