Y'know, given that. in Equestria, you have creatures that feed off of hatred and use it to freeze ponies, eldritch abominations that will twist reality and can only be defeated by friendship, and monsters that will feed on negative emotions and use it to force the victim to spread more evil, friendship seems less a voluntary thing and more a necessary survival mechanism.

There is something that I saw in this episode. Even the play is a really nice one, it is strongly equestrian-nationalist. Here's why: - With so much discontent between them, there would have been bigger confrontations (not a large-scale war, though), but everything was fixed without too much difficulties... - Everything was worse without Celestia and Luna by that moment, for everything seems kinda anarchic. - At the end, they do even use nowadays' Equestrian Flag featuring Celestia and Luna.
