I began my fascination with the Gundam franchise when Gundam Wing came out on Toonami so many years ago. For a time, I thought that Wing was the most epic Gundam show ever, while I had a shady understanding that there were other independent continuities as well. However, once I saw 0083 and the 08th MS Team, my allegiances permanently shifted to the Universal Century because of the depth of the characters and plots as they develop throughout the shows.
Oh man, replacing the familiar sounds that (Some of us) grew up with is terrible > <. I mean how can you NOT remember the original sound of the beam saber or thruster souds from the original and feel some sort of loss while watching this!?
Gundam 0083 and Gundam The 08th MS Team represents the pinnacle of the realistic Gundam series movement. Perfect in any sense possible. The drama, the romance, the action, the quality of the animation, the soundtrack. Just perfect.
I like gundam, I like it alot. 0083 was my firt foray into the Universal Century, so its obviously one of my favorites GP-01fb FTW, but seriously I find myself liking the cleaned up video, but disliking the changed sound effects. They sound like they're trying to force themselves to sound science fiction-y. I dunno, its just my opinion anyway.
so zeon stole a gundam with nuclear wepons couldent they have just used chars red gundam and yes the red comet has a gundam look it up but look up casval not char
@ellnats Char's RX-78 doesn't exist outside of Giren's Ambition, which doesn't hold canon to the original timeline. But I guess the point would be that it didn't have a nuclear weapon strapped on to it's shoulder that could take out the majority of the Federation fleet.
@ellnats Well, there are red gundams, but I assume that you mean Char's one. If so, then yes. Char's Gundam is only in the game, since it's an alternate version of the Gundam universe. Plus, at this point in the timeline Char is already listed as KIA and has taken on the identity of Quattro.

The re-master of the music is good. I have the original CD sound track to it and they got the audio quality back.
The visual though is out standing. Remember folks I saw this on a copy of copy of a VCR TAPE. WOW how clear it is now. Now just have to hunt don chars counter attack.
For once this remaster with the replaced sound effects to my freakin surprise really kicked ass!
I love 0083, it's like Sunrise made a serious real world circumstance for Kou Uraki to figure out the nature of women and relationships coupled with figuring out the motive for Gato wanting RX-78GP02A "Physalis" and his unquestionable loyalty for the Principality of Zeon.
Too epic, when I saw this on Adult Swim I was mesmerized by the intro, hell even my dad took this show seriously lol!
I like 0083 and the op but, space is a vacuum. So, why was there all that sound going on?

Whatever filter was used before they upscaled this to make it "HD" really ruined a ton of the finer details in the animation. Very bad job for sure.
