Hi, I do understand what you were trying to bring this up. I do support the idea what you said it all because I have hearing parents. Unfortunately, there is something that I don't like to see one certain thing; it still exists in the Deaf community. It's hard for me to say something this because I know it will bring more drama - but we have to face the truth, no matter how much we don't like or like. I still see that Deaf are fighting against Deaf, rather than fighting against the majority.
@ASLeslie I'm with you on this Leslie, I sincerely do. I feel for Ella and Dawn and my point here is to have a *real* dialogue--not fighting--within the Deaf community. There are people out there like me who are nonconformists and vunerable when it comes to their DH journey and learning more about themselves and re-define their identity as Deaf persons. It caused lot of misunderstandings here. Will follow up with a vlog to wrap up and move on.
Okay commenters, I wanted to take the time to say thank you for giving me an "eye-opening experience" as a Deaf man who is on his Deafhood journey. Yes the roads are bumpy at this moment, for each bump, a lesson comes to him and continue to educate him. I wanted to emphasize that I *adore* Ella and Dawn. @pdurr you need to be aware that even closed door meeting will be revealed to public as results. the destruction or breakdown in that meeting happened between the hearing parent and Ella. Dawn had the clear conscience to reveal that in public after being shunned out for trying to correct the situation. it was attack on the morale and well being on everyone in that meeting.
I strongly believe that the meeting was never meant to be private.

@mkrajnak Critical thinking or examination is not scolding or criticiizng to deflate. It's not negative. It's thinking that takes into consideration various issues and ideas including ones own belief and passion. It's values in education. I think it's more constructive than independent thinking.

Is it fair that so many years hearing aids companies + ci corps are taking advantage of our pockets, our health care insurance premium + medicare from our tax for their own over billions profit? They do not contribute ASL but they did donate money to only orally, listening + genetic education.
Is that how we have to advocate the hearing parents that Deaf is BADLY disease? Uh?

In fact, I'm not strong catholic myself but got to keep my eyes on them since they screw up in US politics from many issues! :/ Possibly they wanna use "hearing aids for safety reason" to cover up the business excuse for profits. FYI: I already left my long + short comments on People of the Eye blog.

@mkrajnak - I wonder about Steve Wiener might be feeling alone and fall in trap into "independent thinker" without having other deaf schools and organizations tmw Thursday-Sept 29th up in The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Hosts Initial Meeting of Top Education, Health, Science, NGO and Government Leaders called " International Center on Deafness and the Arts to Convene National Think Tank on the Changing World of Deaf Education"? That mtg is closed to public! :/

me like this vlog. i hope the conflict will be resolved soon and something positive will be gained from this unfortunate incident. it's essential that we all are able to co-exist and work together peacefully as a team while respecting each other's diversities and beliefs.
