I have a 1997 CRV with 223000km. I work for honda canada so i get a nice discount on parts and labour. So far its got aftermarket rims, toyo open country all terrain tires newer shocks and getting a light bar put on soon.
I have the exact same car 2000 Honda CR-V EX but in Electric Pearl Blue bone stock s15'' alloy wheels u think thats fine for offroading ? will the suspension be fine ??
@xMADXFIGHTZx for light duty off roading your fine but what you really have to watch out for is your catalytic converter. it hangs low off the uni-body so if you manage to centre out your crv you can really damage it, or if you even catch it on something hard while driving. im gonna try to figure out if i can reposition mine so it wont hang so low.
I miss my Honda CR-V, my CR-V to is the same as your and it is all wheel drive to but mine is color white, i selled it and bought a brand new 2012 Toyota Fortuner, is the 2012 Toyota Fortuner Better, or still this Honda CR-V??????
@db0951 A 2009 cr-v has more ground clearance and (assuming it has awd) the awd system is quicker to respond and provides much more power to the wheels (also thanks to the bigger engine). My main advice is to keep it out of the mud/clay and don't stress the transmission too much. A decent skid plate will keep you out of trouble too.
@Jirobinson13 i have seen both 2001 AND 2010 the 2010 was lower than the 2001 and the 2001 had more ground clearance. The 2001 CR-V weighs 1300KG. The 2010 CR-V weighs 1790KG so 180 HP is useless. Also HP is not important TORQUE is. The new system is generally not that quicker. MY Dads CR-V modded with 251 HP (Turbos) is AWESOME in my opinion the older CR-V's 1995-2006 look more manly hopefully the 4TH gen will catch that on as well
woop woop im proud of that crv. i got a silver one and 97. just all stock and ive put it through hell and back with 194k miles and STILL runs strong =]. i even flipped it on its side. and still she lives
See my new videos of my lifted CR-V. I lifted it 2.5"-3". My next modification will be to change my tires whith the All Terrain of BFGoodrich in 235/75R15.
the first gen CRV is really somthin...looks like the first gen freelander...honda shouldve offered a trail rated package like jeep lol. its capable, honda couldve finished the package
I am transforming my CR-V 2002 Real Time 4WD. I up it 2 inch the ressort in the suspension whith an accesory and i think to change my tires whith the BFG in All Terrain in 215 or 235/75 R15. See my videos. In sand it's a great vehicule, garranty
Is your Cr-v all wheel drive or front. Looks like a pretty agile little car. I have a 2008 CR-V and haven't taken it off-roading yet. Mine is bone stock. Same color as yours. Love it. :)
Its Real Time 4WD. my wheels are alloy and the tires are just all seasons so its not designed to go off roading at all right now. no problems or anything though so i can imagine with some off road equipment itll be pretty good.
@adoluke . No dumbass. Honda Made the car. listed as RT 4WD. IM A NOOB. MY DAD HAS A HONDA CRV I SHOULD NOW. CHECK THE CRV OWNERS CLUB.. NOT AWD RT 4WD. ITS PART TIME WHEN WHEEL SLIPPAGE OCCURS. THE REAR WHEEL ACTIVATES, UNDERSTand?

ok, for those of you thinking of taking your CRVs off roading you must know that the car was NOT design for that.

Just a general question, do you think a 2009 cr-v can do this stuff? If not, them I'm considering trading mine in for an older one so I can do this.
