@optimystikill FLslicer is really dope, and another FL plugin called SliceX is really good too, but the FLslicer is better if you simply want to chop every 4 or 8 beats of a sample. Works really good with the padkontrol too. I have almost the exact same setup as the one in this vid, except that he has a nicer USB turntable than me lol
Can you please tell me how do you chop samples? I recently got me padkontrol and am tryin' to make some beats out of samples. Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
is it possible for you to do a tutorial on how you hooked it up.
thats a real soulfull track nice work,i do have fl 9 / and reason 4 im more familliar wth fl 9 right now i recently got the padkontrol and want to hook up some beats in both fl studio and reason 4
.anything you can share will be greatly appreciated. thanx in advance .DJ DMAN peace
now you can just hook it up to your computer with midi and record with your studio software right? i have garageband i know, simple stuff, but i can create most of what i want for the time being with my keyboard and the sounds with that, what sux about garageband is that it has no real sounding drums in my opinion, so what i am asking is will it be able to record the beats into my track? i am kinda new...
i use to have one i dont like the felling of the pad semm of beat when you knok i use to have and akai mpd 18 and tat was beter than this but thats juste me also my pad break in 2 week and i have trouble detecting the machine 2 you look for a drum pad go for mpd32 buy the sensibily pad on mpcstuff.com
hey i see the padkontrol doesnt have any sliders and not as much knobs as the trigger finger or mpd's is this a fall back ? I dont really know what the knobs and shit are for cause im knew
@KidQualityMusic No not a fall back at all. If you have a midi keyboard with sliders and knobs, then you are good. I guess it depends on how your production workflow is. Knobs and sliders are great for automation of your eq and effects. Gives you a more hand on approach to mixing and effects editing
Naw the 24 aint better, it doesnt even have note repeat. They discontinued the 24 in january and replaced it with the 26 the 26 has swing, tap tempo and note repeat. The same features as the 32 minus some faders and knobs. I would still probably go with the 24 over the padkontrol anyway though just cause im a hard core AKAI user
@kissmarton mpd has alot more control over all paramaters in reason, live, fruityloops....etc....u really dont use the mouse much with the mpd...I had a korg padkontrol, took it back for an mpd 24...never looked back...just keep in mind u gotta get the power cable seperate if you want the transport controls to work.......mpd is NICE with reason and recycle a record player and total recorder software to grab audio from your computers sound card.
It really depends on what DAW you use. The best thing is to get a drum pad to make it easier to do your drums. If you can also do it, get a regular midi controller for your basslines and melodies...
Other than that....listen and learn from a lot of your fav producers
well dae only a problem if you are planing to use them midi knobs and faders are a bitch to set up but it all depends on wut software you use and if you have a template for the drum machine
yo, dope shit man. I have a korg as well.. I know how chop and all that shit... the thing is, how do you record like you did? Please get at me, i'd appreciate it...

@optimystikill I use Edison and the FLslicer to chop up my samples. You can also use slicex to achieve similar results.

mat1873 2 years ago
@mat1873 ay man can you help me...im a beginer and i want a drum machine...so wich one?:korg padKONTROL or AKAI mpd34??
kissmarton 2 years ago
pad kontrol-cheaper than mpd24.
-more fun
-less nobs and buttns than the mpd24
-easy to control building beats
akai mpd24-clutterd full of nobs and buttons and faders
-the amount of things on it mean that you can almost work your entire music software setup with it
but out of these two i think the pad kontrol is the best just because of how much fun it it :D
mat1873 2 years ago
@mat1873 ok...but sry....i askin about the mpd34...
kissmarton 2 years ago
and why knobs and faders are problem??
kissmarton 2 years ago
well dae only a problem if you are planing to use them midi knobs and faders are a bitch to set up but it all depends on wut software you use and if you have a template for the drum machine
