Samekind of superhero as a Lyric tenor is Franck Lopardo....he too amazes me, like Araiza...what a power, but still "just" a Lyric tenor...ok, repertoar is the key...but it does not explain why they have same power like so called Spintos, a true dramatic voices? Anyone?
Seems to me that this should be the real parameter for lyric tenors. If you hear the great ones, such as Araiza, Gedda, Wunderlicht and, say, the 'late' Pavarotti, you'll find a lot of bright, metal and power, along with the legato and the warmth of the lyric voice. Araiza doesn't sound dark as a dramatic or spinto to me, but as a mature and rich full lyric. Besides, as a specialist in Mozart, he also adds the incredible dynamics and sensibility, and a great acting technique. Amazing.
Yeah man...its just the those wonders of nature, these supersingers do what they want with their perfect tech...amazing!
How do you find young Domingo? In my ears he sounds quite similar with Araiza..i mean what comes to the weight in the voice..powerful and warm, metallic lyric voice.
Please tell me, i know something about singing, but obviously not enough? Araiza has wide variety in his instrument, perfect technique... which everybody calls him Lyric tenor, which he is...from Rossini to Verdi...but here i hear more dramatic tones and timbre, spinto qualities in his voice..does anyone agree? I have aöwways wondered his voice...ok he knows how to use it but still..?
orgullasamente mexicano, se me llena el corazón de alegria al saber que tenemos cantantes tan grandes y majestuoso que buen Do! majestuoooso!!! wooow se me eriza la piel y casi salen lagrimas de admiracion
did you forget Kraus? Yes, Araiza is really good, but when you are talking of "the best", you can't forget Kraus, is simply phenomenal. I love the Araiza C's, but Kraus is the monster in this rol.
Verdaderamente esto se canta así. No tengo palabras para describir la emoción que me causa este video cada vez que lo veo. Gran artista, cantante, actor, músico...Bravo!!!
Yes, the phrasing....it's like hearing a brandnew piece.

He is the best Alfredo ever, perfect diction, perfect Bflat and the C sostenuto, plus very heroic delivery. Amazing!!!!!
