why this is so great is because of the length of the shots. Shaw Brothers deliberately put as much action into each shot so as to show the skill of the actors it makes a mockery of modern western movie fight scenes for example this one: search for Goldeneye fight

remember between each cut the actors could have a rest, cup of coffee or whatever

I've loved Ti Lung ever since he starred in The 5 Masters of Death. He's an excellent fighter. However, in my opinion, the last fight scene in this movie was the absolute best ever with Lu Feng & Kuo Chui/Philip Kwok. It was a shocker! But I won't tell. You'll just have to watch it on DVD or YouTube.

I don't think any Hong Kong film of the 70s & 80s ever surpassed Shaw Brothers in storylines & weapons fighting. They truly gave a wonderful gift to the Chinese & American film industry.
