Wondering if Japanese music always uses the In Sen scale (plus its modes) or are others (like pentatonic - major and minor) used? Also, the approach to shakuhachi playing: is it supposed to sound "perfected" as in classical music, or "free - with little imperfections". I was thinking of a drunken and wounded samurai in the forest, playing his last song before death.

I miss the sunrise. It is so cold her right now. In the warmer months I love getting up just before sunrise going outside with my morning cup of tea and listen to nature waking to greet the sun. Oh well winter is waning now, I'll be able to do it soon enough. Thanks for the post it makes me look forward to the warmth of spring.
