I just met this lady watching some of the other videos of her on youtube, she is a very intelligent woman and has her both feet on the ground, she loves her faith very much and has freed herself from the religous part of your faith. @nodinitiative Islam hasn't been "fine" for the last 700 years. That is for how long the islam made no more contribution to the world. The Islam is already broken down into several sects, who are more interested in destroying each other, than in contesting any other point of view. The Islam has no hierarchic structure anymore, like the catholic church, to keep things together and suppressed every reformation attempt. It only runs on national traditions now.

Still, I would argue, that the corruption was not in the modernisation, but started much earlier. I just met this lady watching some of the other videos of her on youtube, she is a very intelligent woman and has her both feet on the ground, she loves her faith very much and has freed herself from the religous part of your faith. When she speaks of your faith she is very spiritual. As far as her being a lesbian, God hates sin but not the sinner, and we are all sinners no matter what your religion is. The Islam is already broken down into several sects, who are more interested in destroying each other, than in contesting any other point of view. Still, I would argue, that the corruption was not in the modernisation, but started much earlier. Even though Atatürks imitations of the europeans ranged from ridiculous to horrible, he also managed to transform a corrupt and dyning System into a modern nation state, that can actually compete with the west on many levels today.

She is NOT a faithful Muslim. She is not a Muslim. She wants to change the Qur’an, she criticizes Islam. A Muslim is certainly and only one who submits to the will of Allah. She is not submitting and finds ways to “change” Islam to suit her and ridicules those who are Muslims, who practice their faith the right way.

I think that Irshad has a lot of courage to do what she does. ok. so if being a lesbian = not being muslim, I'm quite sure that there are very few christians on this planet. I know tons of christians who eat pork and wear half polyester half cotton shirts (some of them are priests), and both of these are explicitly prohibited in the old testament. furthermore, anyone who declares murder is most certainly not of any religion - it's disallowed in every single one. Therefore, Osama bin Laden is just about as muslim as irshad.

So the quote is ignored for the person who speaks it - rendering the bases of any quote uttered by anybody (aren't we all sinners?) as useless despite it coming from scriptures. Are you departing from your statement that says, "A Muslim is somebody who sins, knows it, and repents to God" - who submits? So just to CLARIFY, is that your only qualifier? How does that stand up to 'Islam' not actually being an essential concept, but practiced differently throughout the world?

What exactly is your interpretation of ijtihad? Is it not possible that there are many interpretations in PRACTICE around the world, all by people who call themselves Muslim, yet for some reason not everyone can accept them? Who's to say who's right or wrong if they all quote from scripture? Why are some sects labeled as Ghulat?
