How do you actually let that SH-101 play along the bass to your chords without touching any key on it? Did you pre-program it or how do you trigger it? I'm trying to recreate this using my VSTs. :)
@SynthManiaDotCom: Oh, I didn't know that. I'm using the TAL BassLine VST (maybe you know it) which is some kind of an emulation of the SH-101. It doesn't have a sequencer built in though but Cubase 5 is the sequencer for that. :)

Wow, that sound brings me really back to the 80’s and specially the Italo sound. I like the sound you create and I am impressed with the cushiness you created these sounds.
It seems to be you that the brass melody is inspired by Radiorama – chance to desire (1986).
I don't use any of these lovely synths, I don't have the money neither room for it, but I play on a Nord Wave that can create sounds that can sometimes be close to this.
BTW, I must admit that since I discovered your channel around September '11, I captured the sound of some of your videos, mea culpa...
Would you put some tracks on your website, or maybe better; release an album ???
I was born in '78 but I now rediscover Italo Disco, Synthpop, etc... good old times, hehe...
@technoido I wanted to title this video as something like "classic Rolands doing Italo disco or something like that ;-) but then I simply listed the equipment for better search results ;-) Yes, it's all Roland gear... I have been a Roland "fan" since I bought the D-50 in 1989 or so
Oh i really didn't mean to insinuate anything negative! Sei davvero bravissimo. Sono proprio affascinato dal tutto quello che fai. Btw, could you do something that would be more like (let's call it) german-based europop sound.I guess you know what i mean.
i would love to hear someone recreate the beats, rolling bass and melody hook of MOZZART - MONEY, on an analog synth of course :)

@1314matt the SH-101 has a basic sequencer built in... I simply pre-recorded the bass line pattern in the SH-101 sequencer and sync'd it to the 909

I love the music as well as the shallow depth of field, with a crisp HD video. Is the camera a Canon DSLR by any chance?
akguni 1 month ago
@akguni yes, the camera is a Canon T3i (aka 600D) with the inexpensive but very good EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens

A very nice improvisation, resembling "a chance to desire" by radiorama!
