ive had this phone for quite some time now and can i just say its the biggest piece of crap. For the first 2 months or so i treated it like what i thought it was, an expensive phone that should be fun, thats when i realized its cheap and freezes ALL the damn time, you cant put it in your pocket cause once you do theres a million damn scratches, and if you drop it, like seriously ANYWHERE, the back will fly off and the battery along with it, the reset button becomes your best friend.

yeah, youre being retard, Wifi is a wireless network and you pay to your ISP for internet access, if youre in the street and connect wifi it may be like stealing (some times its actually free like in macdonalds) and internet without wifi is possible with the 3G network wich your phone company charges you for internet access (some times fee is included in your rent) so may actually look free (no charge).

i've got the diamond and my sis has got the iphone.. well, i think htc diamond is by far way better than iphone.. more freedom in the way u want to use the phone.. iphone is just one window with the menu.. nothing else.. and poor camera.. diamond has cool desing, easy to use and nice applications.. it gets slow from time to time but if you close all running applications from the memory it runs well.. by far the best phone i've ever had.. love it:>

You forgot one thing - Diamond is rougly 2 times more expensive. The one-window-open mode helps a lot when outside without time to manage different windows...there is some very nifty software also which is not avail to WM/Symbian/Java based phones. Also - if you know how then you can run many applications at once on the iPhone.

I know exactly what u mean. I usually tell people to google O2 (o as letter O, not zero) O2 xda IIs/2003 or o2 xda IIi/2003, or o2 xda Flame/2005 (see Ebay). These 7 years old smart phones with 3.5" touch screen still out performs iPhone. I bought an iPhone 8GB/2007 just to show my friends how primitive it is. iPhone sucks for 3 main reasons:

- No MMS text messaging means no video or picture text messages between your friends.

- iPhone does NOT let you connect your laptop to internet which means you would have to carry and PAY for a seperate data card service.

- Apple controls what programs can be created for iPhone and they can choose which ones they DO NOT want to allow.

My wife took her iPhone 3G back after 1 week because her friends send MMS.

I've tried Diamond and it's just very stylish n quite sexy looking phone. It does the basic job pretty well but the camera is poor, apps take time to load and crashes quite a lot.

Tocco is very shallow device which doesn't offer much apart from touchscreen and same applications as HTC Diamond.

But Omnia is so far the strongest phone in the market with pretty much everything. You'll struggle getting use to it but you'll start loving it.

But just wait for another month for updated phones

well, in eastern europe diamond beats iPhone cause you can`t use the itunes, wich is really dissapointing. but in USA the iPhone is consider better because of the larger screen and more memory. But on the iPhone you have to BUY songs and vids, on the diamond you can copy them from your computer, a great advantage. Pesonally, I like htc diamond better because it has the same internet speed and the design is so cool. :X

My only problem with HTC is their pathetic speakers. I've owned two of their phones (Tornado and S620), and with both of them I can't maintain a normal conversation whenever there's a bit of traffic. If I use a headset the problem goes away, but it's a royal pain to use because of this... Any words on this?

The cool thing with the iphone is that it runs on the real OSX and no other phone runs on a real operating system for computers. This phone runs on "Windows Mobile" which is not near as good as OSX. Get the real windows and this will be an iphone killer, until it gets killed by viruses....

True, and that is possibly the worst thing about the diamond. MS really need to step it up a notch to keep up with Apple. I sincerely hope that WM 7 will be re-invented so it can compete with Apples OS!

That said, HTC really did do a great job on the TouchFlo 3D. Only problem is that, the TouchFlo 3D runs on top of Windows Mobile, causing it to eat more RAM. It would have been great if HTC developed their own system. Then again, if they did, they'd lose software compatibility!
