this means that it can travel in city Anywhere and has a 90Km or better range this means that you can go from Downtown Calgary to Harvest hills on one charge and Back... Perfect commuter car. Not sure if the Province will allow them on the road. this 25 Mp/h is a US imposed sanction the cars are capable of faster speeds Just thought i'd let our American Friends know that the big three are depriving them of

I'm sorry, but I have decided to start reporting videos that are misleading. If this

car is not available, this video in essence is a hoax (until we get an update and

this one is removed). Electric cars are an essential component of the health

of our future and not to be dealt with lightly. Either explain exactly what's going

on or remove this type of video. The only other choice I have is to assume

you've had your life threatened as have many others I'm sure...and worse.

@chonesong They made the ZENN till 2010. I have one and have been driving one since 2008. The price of gas went down along with the economy, and the dealers couldn't sell enough cars to stay in business. ZENN then decided to put all their funding into EESTOR, an energy storage product that still hasn't come to fruition. There were about 500 ZENNs sold in the US. Mine is number 67. I still enjoy driving it to work every day.

What the hell is "aloo-min-umm" when said phoneticaly? The only material with a similar name is ALUMINIUM, which is pronounced "aloo-min-ee-umm".

How do you drive the car when the batteries run out? Is there any way of charging it whilst moving?

It seems pointless and I suggest you get a diesel as the running costs are far lower.

Did you say 0-25mph in ? Christ that is too slow, it would be dangerous to try and join traffic on a road.

not me i actually live pretty close to the actual headquarters of the ZENN, i live in Toronto, Ontario that's why.

I'm a good candidate for such a vehicle: commute 15 minutes to work and drive around town to do errands--that's about it. When we travel we always use my wife's Jetta stationwagon.

but it won't need fixing as you won't be using it after you find out it costs more per mile than a normal car yet is less useful even if you have cheap electricity

it emits more CO2 than a normal car too since it requires more energy to run per mile than a normal car of the same weight (the battery is very ineficient and burning coal generates more CO2 per joule)

@shodanxx -- Eh WOT? How is 1.2 cents per mile 'more' than a 'normal' car's 12 cents per? Even DIY conversions using less-than-optimumally-efficien­t off-the-shelf parts can do 1.8 cents per mile. Owners of DIY conversions typically report 30 cent charging costs for a 26 mile daily commute. An average 26 mpg ICE will cost about $4 for the same commute. Assuming 1.2 cents per mile for an electric & 12 cents for an ICE, costs for 26 miles per 28 day/month would be $9 vs $112. Like, DuH?!

No, this doesn't use the ultracapacitors, but Zenn has an exclusive license from one of the developers of such capacitors, EESTor. Performance and range should be substantially increased when the capacitors are ready for mass production. The question is when.

The technology exists to create affordable electric cars that exceed speeds of 65 mph. (Watch documentary "Who Killed the Electric Car?) GM made one called the EV. But since oil companies stand to lose billions of dollars they continue to do everything in their power to keep electric cars off the market. Part of the blame is on the consumer. We've been complacent with high gas prices and have not demanded an alternative to gasoline. Screw Hybrids - give me an electric car.
