This is easily Dexter at his most monstrous and sadistic, his facial expressions, dialogue, the way he presses his fingers against his pulse to feel him die, not to mention just how terrified Ethan is throughout the sequence.

For some reason, I really felt sorry for Ethan Turner. He just seemed so pathetic; crying and helpless. Also, Dexter didnt bother to tell him why he was killing him. Just seemed sad...

Have to agree w/ you there- I felt bad for this dude. I remember feeling the same way about the psychiatrist in ep 8 of season 1 too; a reprehensible character yes, but seeing him on that table unable to speak, scared out of his mind got to me. I've always found those deaths more hard-hitting, when the victim is acting like a REAL person would, terrified & dumbstruck, as opposed to the ones who are calm & relatively indifferent.
