Benjamin Linus is one of my favourite characters of all time and Michael Emerson is one of my favourite actors of all time. He's performance as Ben Linus is.... just brilliant!

ben is such a complex and amazing character. His mother died at birth and his father blames him for it. He has to live with it every day, and when he moves to the island with his father, he betrays the dharma initiative for the others. He tries to protect the island when his rival wants to take it from him, and sacrifices his daughter in order to do so.

Ben was so diabolical and in control during most of the show. It's a shame he didn't have another scheme under his sleeve to overcome Jacob. I feel Ben shouldn't have been so weak minded toward the end.

Ben changed after he got shot, and Richard took him into the Temple. Remember Richard Alpert says 'All his innocence will be lost' Although in my opinion, I just see Ben as a man struggling to survive, and a man with an agenda who will stop at nothing to accomplish it. Best actor I have ever seen.

Ben is an interesting charactor because he develops so much. I mean first time you see him he is evil and somewhat a mystery and seems to be in control. Now however he is just another guy that has done bad things but does a good side to him. Locke is just a sad person life has dealt him a bad hand and it just seemed like it never got better. Locke used to be my fav but he never really got past that point of just being unfortunate.

This is one of Giacchino's finest themes from Lost. It's so adaptable. As this video illustrated pretty well, the theme is at times menacing, at other times creepy, and at other times just sad and lonely. Captures the character well.

You know Ben isn't evil because he refused to kill Alex as a baby and instead raised her as his own. A truly evil person would have just killed her.....like Whitmore wanted. What he did to Juliet was mean, but she was there to try and stop other pregnant women from dieing. He manipulated her to try and make her achieve that....

She told him it wasn't working, motivating her by showing her that her sister has a son and was cured by Jacob, whom we now know Ben never met so he was lying, will just make her hate him more, especially when  he wanted her to try it on kidnapped women from the plane. He would have killed Penny an inocent to spite her father,but wouldn' t because of his own mommy issues, he ordered Mikhal (eye patch guy) tokill those two chicks that cauptured Charlie, when they were just doing working for him.

But there's also, having Sayid kill random people we don't even know are connected to Widmore, letting Alex get killed, taking her a a baby, beating up Sawyer in the third season, just to name a few, Oh and kiling Locke of course.

I really liked the song. You could see how it addresses his life. I could imagine all of his life from just listening to the song. It was cold. So, cold. Is Ben really this cold? I think by the end ( I hope) we will find out just the opposite. Listening to the song you could just sense Ben's feelings and musings. Ben really had no one. No one loves him and he does not love anyone else. Alex was all he had and she was ripped away.

It's beautiful how you coordinated the clips with the music. It starts out all dark and sinister and then it gets softer and sad (@ about 1:07). Then there's kind of this mixture of the two towards the end. Really beautiful. It really fits well for this character, a villain who would really rather be married, living in the suburbs, raising a family. (sob) I could go on and on, but this is just awesome.
