After hearing everyone snivel and whine about his bass, I kinda feel bad saying this. But, is it just me, or does it seem unusual how far back his thumb can bend at the first joint? For example the part between 1:05 to 1:10

@Gulroth my thumb can do that too....some people think it's freaky but I've acctually met some people with the same type of thumb (how boring does a conversation have to be to start talking about your thumbs....?) anyway don't know if it's a positive thing for slapping cause I never slap my bass

@Gulroth hes double jointed. I had emailed him a while back and thats why he makes ramps on his basses. His bass teachers had said hed never be able to play correctly because of it so he made the ramps to comprimise.

@Gulroth I can do that, but it actually isn't a postive thing, because you need to have your thumb the most straight possible to make an effective pop

yeah, i think it is. ibanez makes amazingly awesome guitars and basses. i just got a soundgear bass for christmas, and a 12 string acoustic for my birthday and they are AMAZING!

good lesson, I have been checking out different lessons for slap, this is the first one I have seen that emphasizes taking your thumb away quickly to let the string ring, really helpful. Like to see more of his lessons
