My late father liked this very much, I did not watch television as a child, only listened to a small radio, as I did not "perform" well enough in school.
There will never again be another Shogun. This was made at a perfect time. When Japan still was verry traditional and when Hollywood had reached okay technology in filmmaking. They didnt just capture the culture. They also capture the mental psychy of japanese people at that time which I find verry interesting. In The Last Samurai you can clearly see that everyone acts like Americans. Its not like this. This is truly from another world. Im so happy they made this in the 70th.
A wonderful movie. Its intresting to see the trailer i haev never seen the trailer before. it doesnt show even half of the excitement and greatness of the movie tho. For those who havent seen the movie yet it is long but very intrigueing adn unforgettable i would highly recommend it.
