Back in the 1950's, the City subsidized the EHS. When the EHS moved from their old headquarters at 1735 Railroad Ave. into the Dawes house, the Council warned them that they would need to become self-sufficient or face eviction.
Neither NU nor the City has any obligation to subsidize the mansion.
