Damn. Comic book story lines are so strenuously planned and mapped out. The writers think about things so far ahead and build up towards it so well. lol, most movie and novel writers don't even do that.

Gotta respect the guys at Marvel, Siege looks amazing. Can't wait to read eeeeeverything. <3

Norman Osborn (the Green Goblin) became the President's right arm, Avengers, S.H.I.E.L.D. and every other superhero group became a pawn of Norman's.

Right now Norman Osbron has alot of power since the events in secret invasion and now he is the director of a sheld which he renames Hammer. Also Osborn forms a team of Dark avengers super villians masquerading as heros (Bullseye> Hawkeye, Moonstone > ms.marvel, venom > spiderman and so on) and all the other super heroes have fallen from grace basicly.

dont pick up civil war, its not necessary you just need to know that captain america is dead and ironman became the director of shield. In secret invasion the skrulls invaded the earth and its reavealed many heroes were actually skrulls since several years ago. At the end of S.invasion Osborn killed the skrull queen and became the head of HAMMER(its actually shield) this started the darkreign. The SIEGE is the end of dark reign. IF you want a good book read MattFraction´s Invincible Ironman.

thanks for summarizing but what do you mean some of the heroes are skrulls? like did the skrulls kill some heroes and then replace them er what?

they captured and replaced them several years ago. At the end of secret invasion the invasion fails and all the heroes are now free. Don´t get so invovled on events, The only Dark reign books ive bought have been iron man and Agents of atlas.Look for image´s THE WALKING DEAD and INVINCIBLE r really good comicbooks. Marvel best selling titles are 3.99 so try to get invincible ironman(fraction-larroca) in trades and specially ASTONISHING X-MEN since the first issue.You wont regret buying ASTXMN

yes and secret invasion to understand how dark reign began it is hard to follow (dark reign) but if u want a basic understanding of how the dark illumni and the goverment under norman osborn i reccomend dark avengers :) hope that helps

The good thing about comic books is you can basically pick it up anywhere and just read the 'previously' and read a few issues and it feels like you've been reading it forever. As long as you basically know what happened in those story arches, you'll be fine. :3 But the Civil War and Dark Reign plots are really interesting, so they're worth reading. Especially Dark Reign if you like bad guys. <3
