@ElectronicsFanBoy However, if you compare the price points for laptops with this specs, the story changes: Intel's capability to integrate their systems to reduced space has a history of being limited compared to AMD's
@ElectronicsFanBoy What they are comparing is IGP(Build inside the Northbridge). Not Delicated GPU + IGP.
IGP=Build Inside northbridge/CPU. AMD 780G Northbridge = ATi Radeon HD3200. Intel GM45 = Intel GMA4500MHD. So it counted fair. Both are build into the Northbridge. None of them are dedicated chips. If you are comparing it with a Nvidia GPU, you should compare with a Nvidia Base chipset IGP. LIke Nvidia Geforce 8300 Chipset with AMD 790GX(Radeon HD 3300) chipset. That will be very reasonable.
AMD+ATI was the best thing that ever happened, now i have notebook that was cheap and i could afford, but packed with Turion X2 and ATI HD3200, delivering some small gaming performance at the price of a regular notebook.
Its not the CPU that made the difference. AMD system had better fps because of ATI Radeon GPU compare to Intel GMA integrated GPU. You cant really compare the dedicated video card to onboard graphic adapter such Intel GMA cause it has no dedicated graphic memory.
@thung22 But the videocard on the AMD notebook was a ATI HD3200...wich is also a integrated graphics card without dedicated graphics memory, thats where AMD shines, while intel offers you a better processor, AMD offers a better overall system.
this comparison is not fair.. the video card aren't similar.. the VGA card of intel are the reasons that the way the game slows.. and it's because of the 3d rendering.. by AGP 4500MHD.. and while AMD have the ATI.. but in speed of processor.. its the Intel are faster .. you dudes can check on Intel Benchmark vs AMD for better results.. :-)
@SuperKenneth1988 depends actually what are the clock speeds, dedicated memory for the GPU and defenetly the way you share the processing between the GPU and CPU.
@petagriffinfg1 well it depends on your graphics card as to whether you can play those games as for the 2 cores at 2.7ghz equaling 5.4ghz no that is not how it works.
No it doesn't, duel/quad core only means two/four cores running in 2.7GHz if it was going to be 5.4GHz it's a single core like your PS3 it has one core but 7 treads this treads are advanced bitches which i have little idea how they work. But they make your laptop/PC faster, here is some advices buy a laptop/PC with the most cores and if it is a 6GHz single core and a 1.6GHz Quad Core i take the 1.6GHz Quad Core.
@SMGJohn Higher clocked single cores CAN outperform multi core processors, it depends on the application, but many are not multithreaded and rely on one core, thus I would choose frequency and cache over cores.
...you didn't get the point, the vga which the laptop are using is the integrated one, so while amd has a decent one (the 3200) Intel still relies on the gma 4500, which to be honest is crap. Not that other Intel graphics shines, even the gma950 (still sold in many netbooks) has a VERY (and i mean, ****huge****) hole in the openGL support (partial support of the 1.3 OGL, which was released back in 2003...)
Did your mom drop you on your head ass a child? An intel 4500 is in noway anywhere close to being comparable to the Radeon 3200. All laptop graphics cards are intergrated, because they are all permantely mounted to the mobo. So what your telling me is that i could take the amd comp in this computer, and run it against my dv6-1360us, with a p7450 intel cpu and ati radeon 4650 and it would be fair? Dude your a fucking retard, simple as that.
@1993hondaaccord technically speaking, most low end gfx cards for laptops are indeed integrated (soldered chip): you can also find high end ones, which are indeed created and mounted on a so-called MXM slot. The thing is, as far as now MXM has evolved to at least the 3rd generation, and not all cards can be swapped between most laptops. So in the end you can change a today-laptop gfx card, but only if you find a pretty similar card made for a similar config (of course it will cost quite a lot)
The one on the right looks like my AMD system.....oh wait no it doesn't, mine is WORSE!
in about a half an hour on the AMD system, it will be hot. about 3 hours on the Intel, it'll still be cool. intel core 2 duo is the best dual core processor made. i play team fortress 2, halo, and a few other games on the core 2 duo desktops at my school & they handle them very well. no lag whatsoever. i play halo on my AMD system and a lot of lag. there is a lot of hard drive noises coming from AMD system
If you're talking nVidia notebook graphics, they're not too bad, but no DX 10.1 or 11 support and many of them have failed because of a manufacturing issue. So, better stick with AMD/ATI = a top and cost effective solution that won't let you down!
@andyjary i beg to differ because my computer was about 600$ and has intel centrino and geforce 9300M gs cuda and i have dx11 installed with it when i got windows 7, and it is low-end...
hey dude, im sorry to tell ya you are wrong. The 9300m is ok (it does the job, just like the hd 3200) but i doesnt support dx11. windows 7 SUPPORTS directx 11 but u cant do shit bc ur the 9300m doesnt Btw i got a gateway with an athlon II 4 gb ram and a radeon hd 4200 graphics for 450 bucks
Shit I just bought a laptop with a P8400. Oh well, it will at least be 2x faster than the laptop I'm using right now. Plus my graphics card will be better than the one featured here.

but hte amd laptop so hot! and intel cpu + graphics card = gg LOL all depends on your budget, bang for your buck amd is the way want good performance and money isnt an issue then go intel!

I bet you my A355-S6943 will blow both of these away :)) Keep in mind, if you are going to compare 1 aspect (processor), *ALL* others MUST BE SAME (RAM,GPU ETC)!!!
This a comparison of their integrated graphic chips, the 3200 blows any intel graphics out of the water and that is what this is showing. The 3200 is probably the best intergrated chip ever made.
Look at this(average 3dmark06):
Nvidia geforce 8400GS(dedicated)- 1380
ATI Radeon HD 3200(intergrated)- 1436
An AMD integrated notebook GPU beats a mid-ranged nvidia DEDICATED! notebook GPU. That is something to be proud of.
Alright here's the clarification, In Laptops there are two types of graphics, 1 is IGP which stands for integrated graphics processor, the 2nd is a discrete graphics processor.
On the topic of IGP, to Which intel, amd/ati, and nvidia have chipsets. Intel is shit. The Nvidia 8200/8300 vs the ATI/AMD 3200 series is a reasonable matchup.

The 3200 ATi plays most (2005) and before games just like "gravy".
If you plan on doing light gaming and want decent power/battery life then get the HD 3200 laptops!
i thought intel say their new integrated video card 4500MHD will play all the high end games but i tryed and it did not work! they can't play high end games INTEL IS LIER
"i thought intel say their new integrated video card 4500MHD will play all the high end games but i tryed and it did not work! they can't play high end games INTEL IS LIER"
When did they ever claim that o.O. Hell, even higher end dedicated graphics can have a hard time going through the latest games.
They fail to tell you that with those specs, the AMD laptop will run out of batteries in about 1.5 hrs, while the intel will run for a good 3-5 hrs depending on configuration
LAME! i have a intel laptop and the battery only last me for 1 or 2 hours and my friend has a AMD laptop and it lasted him for 3 - 4 hours INTEL FAIL!

The IGP is intergraded with the North-bridge.
ATi was known for the world's fastest IGP with thier RadeonHD 3300.
Not additional graphic chip which found on a Intel Notebook mothboard. (Eg. Intel G35 chipset with a Nvidia GeforceGO)
If IGP+ additional GPU chip(Hybrid-CrossfireX), it will be like IGP+GPU vs single GPU.
While you can't do hybrid graphic with Intel G35 and a Nvidia Chip. Maybe Nvidia notebook motherboard IGP+NvidiaGPU(hybrid-SLi)

The 3200 ATi plays most (2005) and before games just like "gravy".
If you plan on doing light gaming and want decent power/battery life then get the HD 3200 laptops!
GO AMD/ATI!
