Yeah...what actually happened in the real story was much scarier. The little girl (supposedly) came down into the basement and started flicking the lights on and off (after the father had already removed the lightbulbs O_O), so her brother chased her upstairs and then started telling his parents, but they insisted that his sister was in bed the whole time. Turns out she was, when he checked, so the kid was totally freaked out. Anyway, it looked scarier on "A Haunting".

I was always really bothered about what they did with the Amityville thing. It's one thing to say "I heard about so and so event and it gave me an idea for a ghost story" but these people try to pass off their extremely loosely based fiction as close to the truth, which is not only dishonest but exploitative of the people who were involved.

I love a good ghost story I think the premise of this movie is cool but the CGI looks so 10 years ago. Specially the scene where that stuff comes out of the boys mouth looks a bit fake. They may have had a low budget for this film but I wish they had put more into the CGI otherwise it comes off as a TV special. Dont get me wrong I think the story is great just the CGI needs more work. I still give it a B-, also the score and sound effects are rather cliche sounding.
