I tried to get into this mod but it's so boring. You're pretty much forced to grind MMORPG style at the beginning of the game before you can travel further for the main quest, same boring combat from Oblivion (I guess that can't be helped), NPCs says the same thing or nothing at all, dungeons are really small and empty (the beginning dungeon is the largest dungeon I've come across so far), side quests are nearly non-existent. The only thing I'm enjoying about this mod so far is that it's pretty.

@TheLostAtmosphere Are you sure you installed the right mod? I just followed the main quest and i didn't have any sort of trouble... Did you max. the difficulty? Otherwise i don't see how you could have any problems, as long as you didn't decide to fight the black troll l0l.

I don't recall saying I had problems running the mod. I just said it's boring. There's nothing to do except the main quest and maybe a couple really short side quests. I got to the Abbey and now I can't really get myself to play any further since I'm forced to run around and kill wolves and "Nasty Kobolds" for several hours to be able to go to the next area.

@TheLostAtmosphere You don't have to grind, to be able to go the "next area". You are always strong enough. Just follow the main quest and you won't have to bother grinding.

The game is intended to be focused on the main quest unlike Oblivion. If you don't like the main quest i can see how this mod is bad, but otherwise i don't get it.

You realize that traveling past the Abbey requires you to be at least level 7-14 right? Unless you enjoy taking 10 minutes to kill everything with a rusty dagger. You don't leave the starting dungeon at that level and there aren't any other quests that actually help with leveling up so you end up running around killing things to get to that level a.k.a. grinding. I can't play something where it's only selling point is having beautiful scenery.

Yeah and then some random wolf or bandit will kill you in 5 hits while you barely even scratch him. Stop trying to pretend grinding doesn't exist in this game. Even one of the NPCs mentioned that you should level yourself up before continuing on to the Sanctum.

well, the mod doesn't LOOK shitty. I've played it though, a while back, and i hated almost everything about it, especially the storyline and some of the characters. The one thing i like about this game is the fact that the forests are actually forests and there are a lot of beautiful places out in the wild, away from towns, to explore.

@evilartist1983 you are right of course, but you have to give it a chance - especially if you are an Elder Scrolls fan. To fill in the time till Skyrim I gave Morrowind a try and hated it. Combat is just too bland. So I decided to give Nehrim a shot, its free after all. Wow, it's an awesome mod. The beginning is slow, but it takes off soon enough. It's bringing me back to those first few magical hours/days when I first started Oblivion.It's a different style compared to Oblivion. Great mod!

@Meberg96 - Nehrim completely changes the ingame map/quests/characters/etc of Oblivion. In other words its a total conversion. Thus the cities in Nehrim are not the same as in oblivion. Simplification : No, you can't :P

2) The lag isnt the game, Its your computer. oblivion runs off the same engine thus if you lag on one, Your lagging on the other.

3) Im playing with Qarls texture pack on Nehrim and experience no lag.

@LyricsExposed Just google Nehrim and download it from the website. You have to have Oblivion with the latest patch installed.

Nehrim has it's own launcher and it's in German so it can be a bit troublesome to get it to work properly the first time, but their site has a support forum in English with screenshots and everything to guide you through the install process so it's not that hard.

This game is more impressive than fallout new vegas (a big let down) and thats a full price game, this is completely free, modders are making better games then game companies, yes it does borrow oblivions engine and gamesplay but so does fallout 3 and new vegas. I love this game and starting to think this may be the ultimite RPG, also I solved the lag issue by selecting all the options on full in the launcher under optimizing, duel cpu - HDD using etc

It is technically a mod, but believe me it doesn't feel like a mod. This can rightfully be called a new redesigned game, but not just a game, this is what Oblivion should have been and in my opinion one of THE BEST games of all time. The game is awesome, with every single dungeon, and even the wilderness design with a lot of focus for every minimalist detail. You really can feel you're very immersed in the game. THIS IS THE BEST RPG IVE EVER PLAYED!

This is probably the most EPIC rpg I've ever played. And believe me I've seen a lot of them. Yesterday I finished it and all i have to say is thank you so much! all the effort put in this mod was worth it!!! Hope that more people will enjoy this game.
