  • I believe Mickey Goodwin was slated to fight Hagler before he injured his hand. Steward sent Caveman Lee in for Goodwin and was soundly thrashed.

  • Stunned him with a stiff right jab. Awesome power

  • One of THE best middles of all time...

  • Hagler was a magnificent boxer. He is my opinion the best pound for pound fighter he would demolish any of todays boxers even pacman!!

  • Que papelón hizo este Lee...!!!

  • Destroyed... Hagler's right hand was incredible powerfull and quick. Hearns well know that .

  • Hagler has all the tools a great fighter should have- physically and technically. He trained in old school fashion harder than any fighter during his reign. Was disciplined with his diet, routine, and staying away from women during training. Fighting Hagler wasn't an honor, it was a nightmere, because everyone he fought knew he was impossible to hurt.

  • if lee was 5 10 marvelous looked 2-3 inches shorter. when he faught duran they looked the same height. could just ba a gfunny angle though.

  • Hagler was just the " the best " bar none . Minter said of him that you jabbed and he jabbed but he hit and you missed and looking @ him he had long arms , small head , could switch hit effortlessly , a chin made of granite , a skill level that put him above all competitors just the best middleweight and one of the greatest pound for pound fighters ever . No way did leonard beat him in that last fight , no way

  • hagler was the greatest middleweight ever. My favorite middleweight

  • You know who Lee reminds me of... Iran Barkley. Fair comparisson?

  • 5:07 stiff right hand?? he hurt him with a jab!

    great stuff from Hagler!

  • Right-handed southpaws are horrifying, and Hagler may have been the scariest.

He had knockout power in what's essentially just a leaping jab. Yikes.

  • Hagler is the last middleweight I would ever want to fight.

  • Hagler was a ruthless, merciless warrior with an iron jaw who dominated his division before his very controversial loss. The greatest middleweight of all time ??? A resounding YES!!!

  • @sunderlandgent yes, i see striking similarities with him and the young bernard hopkins, the two are my favourite middleweights of all time.

  • LOL. Great KO.

  • Ha ha, "Cave-In" Lee had no business being in the ring with With the great Hagler!

  • hagler was awesome to watch.

  • Yeah Manny doesn't touch Pernell Whitaker either when it comes to southpaws, skills, greatness, etc.

  • It wouldve love seeing Hagler and B-Hop duke it out, 2 old school fighters going at it!!

  • @eddieofcali

    hagler by k.o early

  • @eddieofcali Think Hagler was way better than Hopkins, even though I respect B-Hop. Hagler would have too much of everything.

  • I think Hagler may be the greates southpaw of all time, sorry Manny but there is no arguement.

  • Manny doesn't even come close to Marvelous Marvin Hagler

  • @ironman36 Are you completely insane Manny started his career at 106lbs and has dominated a good four of five divisions and God the man has beaten every top fighter put in front of him, I doubt that I could see Marvin Hagler dominating at Cruiserweight or Heavyweight

  • @b52gf16c who says that marvin hagler would've dominated at cruiserweight? all im saying is that the dick that whom you Pacman fans so love to ride does not hold a candle stick to Hagler. that's all im saying, dick rider.

  • @b52gf16c you talk shit mate, theres more weight divisions now so its easier for fighters such as pacman to move up

  • @b52gf16c WOW. Manny winning those titles with a "catch weight " clause? Thats really impressive of him. Sorry but that achievement is not the fake to me

  • @b52gf16c hagler probably wasnt on roids either, ever thought of that?

  • Dont get me wrong, they are both superb, I just dont think Leonard deserved it.

  • if Haglers 1st world title shot was a draw at worst so was the leonard fight, how do you take a tittle from a champion + give it to someone who show boated the whole fight, did he ever hurt Hagler, did Hagler land the cleaner shots, did Hagler have him out on his feet in the 9th, did Leonard not say to Hagler "Champ you won" he knows who won, perhaps Hagler should have sucked up to those wanting more from him maybe he would have retained his tittle, but that wasnt his style, the best by far.

  • Hagler has 2 nissan 300ZX engines on those gloves

  • Shit all that training for nothing, hagler didnt even need to train if it was so easy!

  • @lhtbuilder

Hagler trained like a fiend. The roadwork portion of his training alone was typical of someone preparing to run a marathon. That probably accounts for how much better his stamina was than that of even a great champion like Leonard by the end of their fight. It also may have something to do with why Hagler was never legitimately knocked down in his career.

  • Hagler Best Fighter Ever Period!

  • Another prick that knows fuck all about boxing

  • haha!! Shows how much you know about boxing!!

  • you back again...lol you are obsessed...lmao

  • Marvin hagler si fue muy superior a su rival que no le aguanto ni el primer minuto.

  • Marvin never swarmed wildly when he had you hurt. He took his time and finished the job with surgical precision.

  • The Hagler would have destroyed run away Leonard

  • Naw...Ray won that one unfortunately. I would have like to see Sugar get that mouth shut. They were both great. Hey! anyone else see a similarity between "Sugar Ray" Leonard and Floyd "Money" Mayweather?

  • I'm talking about this Marvin Hagler...Hagler in his prime. He would have stopped Leonard

  • Yeah that is true! My dad educated me on that dude when he was digging up some of his old tapes. So true. It would not have been easy though...I'm kinda mad he retired though...But I could see why.

  • @ManlnCognito

I think Leonard knew that as well, to be honest.

  • @ManlnCognito never !! too clever for hagler and in his prime to quick ! hagle had trouble with movers like monroe even early in his career and in his prime struggled with duran ! its easy knocking over tomatoe cans like caveman lee !! but a bit different with a boxer as talented as leonard !!

  • @sweetassugar69 HAHAHAHAHAHA CHUMP

  • @johnosandra if i remember correctly hagler lost to leonard and that was with leonard having 1 fight in 5 years and with hagler being active and naturally bigger !! now who's the fucking chump lol

  • @sweetassugar69 i remember buster douglas knocking out mike tyson whos better??

    hagler beat ray leonard anyway

hagler was a better fighter just take it from an expert

  • @johnosandra you mug you probably never even stepped into the ring expert my arse !! hold on wait a minute when leoanrd was welter weight duran, benitez, hearns and kalule had combined record of a 175 wins and one loss between them and stopped them all ! together with welter, lightmiddle middle and supermiddleand lighheavyweight titles he won !! never had the balls to move up and face spinks !! every exerts poll puts leonard in front oh hagler all time list ! yes leonard won fair and square !!!

  • @johnosandra you mug you probably never stepped into the ring expert my arse hold on wait a minute when leoanrd was welter weight duran, benitez, hearns and kalule had combined record of a 175 wins and one loss between them and he stopped them all ! together with welter, lightmiddle middle. supermiddle and lighheavyweight titles he won !! hagler never had the balls to move up and face spinks every exerts poll puts leonard in front oh hagler all time list ! yes leonard won fair and square !!!

  • @sweetassugar69 BAHAHA sorry son you know nothing

leonard moved up to get away from aryon pryor

hagler fought men leonard would never fight

hagler didnt move up in weight because he had the discipline to stay in top shape and quit boxing while he was still on top

both where great fighters i have seen both fighters careers in full

hagler was a tougher stronger fighter and had every tool in the shed the man banged with john mugabi and came off best

he always did the best and right job

  • @johnosandra you mug leonard moved up to avoid aaron pryor pryor never ventured up to welterweight before he retired in 1984 as for banging with mugabi lol he was a lightmiddle and in his next fight got stopped by duane thomas and then got destroyed by terry norris lol know ur facts before you comment ! leonard was always in super shape but showed far more by moving up and beating bigger fighters unlike hagler could !! leonard beat all the top fighters in his weight !! leonard was greater !!

  • @sweetassugar69 hahaha you have got no idea of what your talking about

leonard ducked more good fighters than he fought

im about 10 years ahead of you in boxing knowledge

youve got one favourite fighter and you dont know shit about him either

  • @johnosandra i just the shoved the facts right down ur throat with ur comments about mugabi and aaron pryor you mug oh yeah lol by the way pryor got offered half a million dollars to fight leonard in 1981 and turned it down now who avoided who lol !! duran, benitez, hearns and hagler all got beat by this mediocre sugar ray leoanrd whats does it make them lol fuck off mug and go watch some more footage of leonard beating hagler ur sure need to be educated !! mug

  • @sweetassugar69 this ends now

you will never have anything to do with boxing you have got no concept of what boxing is about

im a fighter a trainer and im becoming a ref and judge

pryor never turned down a fight against leonard you idiot

you dont know shit about aryon pryor

  • i could not give a toss if you became the marques of queensbury ! i boxed for 10 years and lost in the ABA finals in the early nineties ! as a fact pryor did turn down a fight against leonard in 1981 but he turned it down because he got half a million dollars and felt he deserved more so there was no fight go do your homework before you comment ! pryor never moved up to welterweight till his comeback fight against bobby joe young which he got koed !got dropped five times as a lightwelter lol

  • @sweetassugar69 ray leonard dodged so many fighters

ray leonard didnt love boxing he loved himself

ray was a shifty snake fact

he was a great flashy fighter but if you love fighters like him that give the wow facter you cant go past roy jones in the 90s

    pyror fought arguello

    hence hell fight anyone

    ray leonard ran from pyror

and he fought hagler after ducking him for near a decade

he fought him on his way out and still lost

  • lets go facts shall we

benitez was 39 and 0 before he got beat by leonard

hearns was 32 and 0 (30) kos before he got beat by leonard

duran was 74 and 1 when he faced leonard

kalule was 36 and 0 and never off his feet before he got ko by leonard

leonard came back after 1 fight in 5 years to beat a naturally bigger fighter who was considered the p4p king

welterweight leonard was the best of his generation PERIOD

arguello was a featherweight and pryor still needed the black bottle !! fact

  • @sweetassugar69 Leonard was great, no doubt. But he was also smart. That's why after the Kevin Howard fight, he decided not to fight Marvin. At that time, Hagler was in his prime. If Leonard fancied his chances, he would have fought Marv then. Hagler had just had two wars with Hearns and Mugabi when Leonard finally made the match. I think the decision could have gone to either guy by two rounds, depending on your style preference. The 118-110 score was a joke, though.

  • @onepunch1968 agreed. Jo guerra should've been banned from boxing after that one. What the hell fight was he watching?

  • @onepunch1968 Hagler a southpaw came into that fight fighting righthanded and lost the first 5 rnd straight. That score wasnt a joke,Leonard outboxed him that night,no doubt

  • @sweetassugar69 mike tyson was 37-0 and 35 kos when he got beat by buster

and john mugabi was 26-0 26kos and the most feared and dangerous man in boxing

he hit 10x as hard as hearns fact

he wouldve steam rolled leonard in one round

hagler had the strength with the knowledge and this is what kept mugabi off him enough for him to win the fight

mugabi fought his best so did hagler and the better man one

leonard had what was needed to do the job against fighters he choosed carefully

  • @johnosandra don't talk out your arse yes mugabi had a big punch but he never beat a decent fighter when he did he lost to hagler in 11, duane thomas terry norris and gerald mcllennan ! as i said before its ok knocking over tomatoe cans but its another story against class !!! go to the record books and see the diary of 1987 april 6th and read after 1 fight in 5 years a natural welterweight moved up to defeat the best p4p in tqhe world marvin hagler !! get used to it mug !!

  • @sweetassugar69 lol

because i know what to look for in a fighter i suffer

you see a big punch i see an artist of ko

john mugabi was one of the best knockout artists in the history of boxing

    not the best but top8

mugabi faints extremly well has a very good arsenal of punches knows when to punch his oppenent and when to punch through his oppenent

hes minds always in one place and he gets the job done like no other

john mugabi murders people in a ring

    your privledged to watch it

  • @johnosandra r u mickey duff or jarvis astaire lol as i said before its ok knocking over tomatoe cans but a bit different against class ! mugabi had gr8 ko power but when up against other good fighters he lost period !! lets get back to the subject leonard deserved the win against hagler !!!

  • @sweetassugar69 earl hardgrove???/

    he fought some contenders

he wasnt like tommy morrison or klitschkos

lol we have been argueing for weeks

  • @johnosandra , 33 KOs, not 35

  • I had to watch this fight cuz my mind has just been numbed by all those morons who not only think that Carl Froch is great, but won that fight with Dirrell. Leonard won that fight cuz he believed Hagler had suddenly gotten old. He was right, if Hagler was in his prime, Mugabi woulda' lasted about as long as this guy did.

  • @lemonite1

Mugabi did have an excellent chin in those days, it has to be said.

I nearly fell off my chair when reading a recent feature on Hagler where it turned out that he had fought Hagler while out of shape. It must have seemed a good idea at the time.

  • Sorta, Leonard danced, jabbed, moved, flurried more. Mayweather has a wider stance and conserves more energy by stayin' in the pocket. He's a counter puncher. He's similar to Pep, Benitez, Whitaker...

  • Wow....I'd never seen this one. No wonder he was called Marvelous Marvin!

  • The Hagler jab of death! I've never seen anyone knock down as many people with his jab as Hagler did.

  • its because he was natural right handed but fought as a southpaw, so his jab with his right was like a stright right.

  • I read that caveman went to prison 3X for bank robberies. What a fucking bum!

  • I think Lee was a late substitute for another Kronk fighter he was supposed to be matched with.

  • He was supposed to fight Mickey Goodwin, who died recently

  • He's training guys at the interim Kronk in Detroit. Great guy, he's helped me a lot, really great dude. He looks in good shape.

  • lol love the Blondie music playing during William Lee's recap

  • He was a bum who knocked out other bums. He looks stoned here and got hurt with a nothing punch.

  • Caveman Lee is no bum. That's an incredibly daft statement.

  • This fight is suspicious to me. Hagler-Hearns was inevitable for big time money so why would manny stewart want his man to beat hagler in a fight that pays almost nothing?

FYI if caveman(implication of stupidity) had criminal and drug problems that is his damn fault i don't want some poster taking that out on me.

  • Fuck off troll, you wouldn't say that shit to his face.

  • hagler hurt him with a right jab, some power.

  • I Just Spent a couple of Hours with Caveman Lee,He is out of Jail now and he is doing good I Picked him up on Dexter and Elmhurst here in Detroit...He is Lookin like his old self>>>>

  • ok who the hell would allow larry hazard to referee a fight? funny shit. well at least he didnt have much work to do lol.

  • I want to find out more about Caveman Lee, can anyone please give me any links, articles or any information about him please. Thanks. Daniel Naughton is a wank

  • I believe William Lee went to prison for robbery.

  • This was a fight HBO refused to pick up.

    And it showed why.

    Lee barely survived LoCicero.

  • Hagler stays stretching cats

  • Hagler was a fantastic boxer. I'd probably only favor Monzon over him definitively at MW.

  • Ha ha GAYveman Lee! :D

What a weak piece of crap he was!

  • I remember watching this one. It falls into the category of "Don't get up for a beer. You might miss it."

  • William 'Caveman' Lee now works for Ferrous Metals Inc. in southwest Detroit and co-trains amateur boxers with former Kronk stablemate and world light-heavyweight contender Mickey Goodwin. He looks the same except for some gray hair.

  • Great news. Everyone who knows anything about him is pulling for him, that's for sure.

  • William 'Caveman' Lee currently works in Ferrous

Metal Factories, Inc. in Southwest Detroit and co-trains amateur boxers with former Kronk light-heavyweight Mickey Goodwin.

  • Damn he really did fight like a caveman in that first knockout clip.

  • Caveman Lee...one of the many sad boxing stories. The guy was very RAW, but had he stuck with Kronk he probably could've earned some BIG paydays. Had a lot of problems with the law, and I think he's serving a life sentence. To his credit, though, his fight with LoCicero is still considered to be the greatest fight in ESPN history.

  • Then again, Hagler was out of his prime by then anyway, and Hearns IMO didn't really go downhill at all.

  • another great one. Hearns and Hagler were so great that when they fought they sort of depleted each other of 10 percent of their skills. Neither was ever the same after April 1985
