  • Sounds great!

  • the music is great man! i'm quite envious of your gear. especially the genoQs. i'd like to see more of you music posted on here.

  • Im loving this>>>

  • you are a hardware freak aren't you!

see you have swapped your old revolution for a nice new one. love the sounds, wish the quality was better so i could hear the deeper sounds better.

  • nice one!

  • cool track.

  • Very nice... have you ever heard of plasticman? You probably have... I love your style.

  • sick jam. where is the verb coming from?

  • Kurzweil Rumour

  • nice...sounds great

  • Thanks so much for you responses. It's all food for thought. Great stuff by the way. I'd love an mp3 of this track for my iTunes player if you have one available.

  • I put a link to the MP3 file in the description.

  • Oh, and one more...

About how long does it take you to put together a piece like this one?

  • hmm, it varies, but this simple one for example was a couple of hours. I like to get things done and over with, warts and all, very quickly!

  • Wow! You were so quick with the replies.

The reason that I asked about the sampler is that I'm trying to decide between getting an RS7000 (seems like what I 'd like: not as archaic & obtuse as an MPC3000) or just doing it all in software.

I have similar goals as what you stated. i.e. sampling my own stuff.

    Whatchoo think?

  • I like the RS7k, but I wouldn't recommend it specifically for the sampling... it has a powerful sequencer and some cool MIDI FX capabilities. The workflow is a bit "brainy" which is why I don't use it much anymore, the KP3 suits my needs for the most part, and it's very immediate (= inspiring to me).

    cheers

  • Oh, yeah. And what ever happened to the Schaltwerk?

  • It has a nice interface, but compared to the Octopus it's prehistoric. I got rid of it (in frustration) many years ago.

  • Hello,

I'm wondering what you use for sampling, if anything. Would you be able to let me know?

Also, as a side-note, you and I have a similar taste in gear. I just ordered an Octopus, have the same Electrix stuff, a X0XB0X and am lusting HARD after an SPS-1UW!

Great tunes BTW. I downloaded your album and am spinning it twice per day.

  • I use samples very rarely, but depending on how it is used, I sample on the Kaoss Pad, V-Synth, SPS-1 UW or in some cases an old RS7000. If I sample, it's usually my own loops for later use... I like to focus on one machine at a time on the sofa with the Kaoss Pad on the output.

    cheers

  • great!
