I noticed that Frederick Douglass was named several times during this video as a member. Since he died in 1895, and A Phi A was founded in 1906, I am assuming that he must be a posthumous honorary member. But either way, you gotta respect APhiA...they were the first...unless you count Gamma Phi Fraternity that was founded in 1905 on the campus of Wilberforce University. But APhiA has stood the test of time.

Prince Hall Freemasonry is The first Predominantly BLACK FRAT (After 1813), Sigma Pi Phi is the first B.G.L.O. (1904) & Gamma Phi [Circus] is the OLDEST COLLEGIATE "CIRCUS" (1929) so Gamma is not even the picture. Please, look up stuff before commenting. Just handing out advice.

It's really sad how we hate on each other's history instead of recognizing the struggle and the need for unity and progress, as my "Jewels" did a century ago. And as said before, Alpha history is Black history! Instead of hating on Douglas for being my brother, be proud of his accomplishments as a black man! That is why he is an Alpha!
