I am a proud rescuer of a Black Head Grosbeak.. they can cross breed with he Rose brested grosbeak... That is very weird how that Rosie ened up in Arizona!!! That's where Black Heads live!!!! :D
I know! We have blackheads all over the place, but I had no idea they could cross breed. Thanks for the info! Oh - check out my most recent rose breasted grosbeak visitor. Do you think it could be the same one?
I love it when they show up where they're not supposed to be - my guess is that we don't know half of what there is to know about the habits and habitats of these creatures:)
the are in Michigan right now, I consider them an awesome sight and I also consider them a rare sight even though there numbers are good. Many people will live there wholes lives never seeing these.
Thank you! Would you believe that he's back right now this year in the summer heat? He's across the road at my neighbor's house! I'm hoping he'll visit me again...
Nice video I first had the rose breasted grosbeak visit my feeder last year it's an awsom looking bird ! This year I have three males and A female rose breasted grosbeak visiting my feeder.I am located in Windsor On. Canada.I also shot some neat videos of this bird check it out. just search ve3tmg. By for now Terry
One was sighted down in Tucson the other day so we thought he might be on his way back -- but no such luck yet. Maybe that's him already in your yard! You've got some cool vids too. Thanks for your kind comment!
my favorite bird to spot in northwestern PA! too bad i never get them where i live in GA. and i love your cat in the background near the end of your video!
probably stopping off for fuel during migration. have seen some in n. calif. here in central sierra we have thrashers, such a treat. very important birds. we shouldn't have to feed them, they especially like things like baby crickets, frogs, beetles, baby lizards and snakes. and nuts and berries. vulnerable to cats, dogs, fences, development, lights, and mechanical noise. very sensitive birds, thrashers, aware of surroundings. we also have black headed growsbeaks. great singers. good vid thanx
Turns out my neighbor has photographed him for the past few years around the same time I saw him so this must be one of his regular stops! This was the first time I'd seen him. Thanks for your comment!

Beautiful capture; I have seen them in Ohio, where I was born. I'd love to see one here in Texas; that'd be too cool! :) FIVE stars!
