Tony : A sound technician friend of mine has recently returned from the US after sitting in on a recording session with Stevie Nicks. I invited her to listen to this and other original songs by you. She was impressed!

She also told me that there is NO auto tune used here.

It saddens me sometimes to see people so casually dismiss your work over such a thing.

I hope one day we meet - although I rarely travel - so that I can extend a hand in respect and simply say : thank you!

At a musical level, your scanning of the lines "No I can't take one more step towards you" and "Don't you know I'm not your ghost anymore" is actually more correct and better than the original. - especially on "towards you" - lovely!

The climactic points are musically well balanced against the natural emotive content and story line of the lyric.

I might question a couple of moments where you stretch a syllable out over several notes for effect because it might be better and stronger without.

When a singer/songwriter steps outside their own comfort zone to cover another singer/songwriter's work, they do it hopefully as an individual and with the desire to stamp something of their own patina on the song not theirs. The risk run in doing covers is that they are judged against the original, sometimes with the expectation that what they do should be identical to the original. better the musician like you who makes the work of another their own.

I very much doubt that there is not one studio recording in any record store world-wide that has not undergone some degree of enhancement to present to the public a product both polished and professional. It's par for the course.
