This video is incredibly bias. Its filled with factious facts. The article about Boeing vs Airbus was in the recent Wall street journal. And they were neck to neck with Airbus trailing behind. It only beat Boeing based on " orders' and the orders were not fulfilled because the customers retracted the orders after the few plane malfuctions like quantus air and similar plane have several issues including the engine disinterring in mid air.
I'm really disappointed that every damn new plane that debuts looks almost identical to the last: Two engines on the wings. They all look like A-300 clones.
When a radical redesign of this stale template takes place, then I'll get excited
Folks this is the most advance cockpit system, the most fuel efficient, most environmentally friendly, most lightest & yet strongest composite material composed of, most quietest, best cabin air pressure/ air purification system, and most comfortable ride for passengers in any plane ever built so far; I'm so very proud of you, Boeing Dreamliner!!! [with love from SanFrancisco]
5:08 = moment of falsehood. The most powerful and the largest engines available for any A380 variant are the RR Trent 977B (fan diameter 2.94m or about 9 feet)with thrust of 340kN or 76,000lbf. However, the larger GE90-115B (with fan diameter of 3.1m or 10 feet) generates an everyday thrust of 514kN or 115,300lbf, or a maximum of 569kN or 127,900lbf. 2 GE90's can proudly lift any 747. Bigger is indeed better, and Mr Dickinson's facts are in shambles...
the A380 is a disgusting excuse for a plane..the only thing Airbus was trying to do was to overtake the 747. The 787 will change everything..A380's will be in the graveyard within 10 years.
@LUpilot2012 SIA, EK, QF, AF, LH and KE all love their A380s. If it was so irrelevant then why has EK ordered 90? You have obviously not flown on an A380. They make long haul flights to Australia much more comfortable. The idea of the A380 is what it says in the doc, at an airport like Heathrow, there is NO room to expand. The only way they can expand is through larger airliners. Heathrow isn't the only airport with congestion problems.
@cheesemaster1000 you mean Europe didn't invest 11 billion..Airbus is heavily funded by countries in Europe in an effort to compete and eventually "overtake" Boeing as the worlds top aircraft manufacturer.
@LUpilot2012 Right let's not go down that road because I think we both know all too well Boeing have been subsidised too. Remeber this news article from March? "US aircraft manufacturer Boeing received at least $5.3bn (£3.3bn) in unfair aid from Washington, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has concluded." BBC
And erm, Airbus is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world and has been since 2004.
@omichron420 If they are the most successful, then they are also the largest. Take Toyota, for example, they are considered the largest car manufacturer because they make more than anyone else.... same principle but with aircraft.

Lets keep America and the free-world Vermin Free and be careful of the two-legged rats that have infested youtube with bottom feeding low-life's......that could actually apply to yourself.
With the spaciousness and ability to get out of your seat and walk around, the 380 (and others alike) open new opportunities for people who have issues with DVT and blood clot issues associated with long-term "sitting", to experience long distance air travel with less concern. In the past, doctors have ruled-out such travel for people with these associated health conditions. Definitely a step forward.
I wanna know how long it takes to board and exit the a380 aircraft. From my own experience 747 always take forever. Then there is the added wait for your luggage. Does anyone know if this has been an issue?
@nfgillen I travelled 4 times from Paris to Sydney via Dubai by Emirates with A380 and every time i was quite surprised with the length of the boarding and exit... I am pretty sure that it takes less time to board and exit a A380 than a 747, because of the two decks.
And globally, the A380 can't be comparated with the 747... It's smooth, quiet, comfortable, spacious, ... It' s awesome !
Boeing like GM and other corps from The Ulcered Sphincter of Asserica, are from bygone days You are mass consumers now no longer innovators, of stolen tech
@applmac2009 They most certainly are.. The thrust rating for each engine on the A380 is 70,000 - 80,000 lbs.. The Ge-90 115B's for the 77W is rated for 115,000lbs each.. :)
The A380 is the ugliest airplane ever built..even the Russians build better looking airplanes than this....there is only 1 jumbo..and it's name is Boeing 747..anything else is a cheap replica.
History has decided that the A380 is NOT the right plane for the right market... Boeing and the US are the innovators and originators and CREATORS of aviation and all else are miserable FOLLOWERS... Get LOST
oh of course theres no point in all the security lets just do away with all of it shall we, all the baggage checks etc,it would be so much quicker and,all those annoying people trying to prevent for example,oh i dont know, somebody taking a bomb aboard,or maybe one in their shoe, thats never happened has it?! of course not whats everybody worried about??lets take off the door to the cockpit, as one would break in and stab the crew, hijack the plane and kill loads of innocent people would they?!!
As a passenger I do not have choice in plane than the one is docket for my fly.More I am concerned is all the stupid rules for me as a passenger .
One day there will bee all passengers chain down like a cows and transported to their destinations. There is absolutely no common sense in today security
There's no evidence that boeing are 'more safe'. You might 'feel' more safe in a tradiionally controlled aircraft, but the statistics show there is no difference
Airbus overtaking Boeing doesn't suprise me at all. I went spotting at Heathrow the other day and the plane I saw more than any other. A319. The money is In the short routes and everyone is buying Airbus for these. Very excited about flying the A380 but I love the 747, both are beautiful aircraft and I hope they both continue to prosper.
Thats because the A319 and A320 cost so little and Airbus gives them away. I have flown an A320, it is an awful tin can. They use teh absolute cheapest materials. I will never command one again. Thank God I fly 777's and sometimes the 767-300.
yeah, yeah, yeah - you are so right. Your are the know-it-all smart arse youtube pro.
I have flown for 18 years. What do you think, I walked in as a rookie and they said, "here fly our 777"? I have flown/fly Embraer/737/757/A300/767/777. Anyhow, the point is the A320/19 are still a piece of crap and the cheapest planes ever made. The A300 was great, A330 is ok, the rest are crap too incl the A380. As for the 737, it is EXPENSIVE for a reason, ITS NOT AN AIRBUST TIN CAN.
Did you even go to school you stupid cunt, sorry, I mean swunt?
You wrrte like an inbecile and probably speak like a dumb cunt. Next time you fly, stay in your seat and dont put your feet on the upholstry. Pick up your trash and wipe the wash basin for the next passenger.
Ok, so I realize now you are a German, or a dumb ass english perosn living in Germany. So for a German your English is pretty good - and I apologize if that is the case. Your thoughts on AirBUST though still make you a dumb ass, no matter what language you speak!
My views are based in experience, not nationalism - like you and your "ami's" in Toulouse.
Die A400M ist eine katastrophe. Auch Deutschland hat genug davon hatte, überraschend.
@onecunningfox yes i'm german. so thanks for the "your english is pretty good" compliment. i do my best. but even if i love the US for things like, your big suburbs or your city centers and hate it for things like bush and the CIA. i can't find a big difference between airbus and boeing. they both suck as much as they are great sometimes. boeing sets trends for the shape of a plane and airbus is mostly more inovative. so no big difference. but please don't try to translate english into german.
I'm curious..are you actually flying or riding in the planes mentioned??..how do you fly the 777 AND the 767-300 "sometimes". No airline has Pilots checked out on more than one type at any time...757/767 share a common rating, but I don't believe the 767/777 do.
the 747 has been going for more than 40 years now and like he said, has had more passengers than any other plane, that shows how successful they are. They came up with the idea of a double decker plane.
The GE90 series is on many planes. The GE90-115b is on the 777-300ER only. The engine is the largest in the world and two of them could fly the A380 or a 747 as the put out 115,000 lb of thrust each. The smaller RR/Trents, P&W's and GE90's put out an avg of 95,000 lbs. The GE90-110b puts out 110,000 lbs. the engines on the A380 only put out 80,000 each (but there are 4 of them). RR/Trent could have made a larger engine, but Boeing elected GE as the sole supplier for the 773 & I think the 747-8
No the GE90 series has many variations. It is just that the LAGRGEST one the GE90-115b (115b stands for 115,000 lbs of thrust) is on the 777-300ER only. Many 777-200's use the GE90-110b and other variations depending on the series model and ailrine needs.
Hey it's you! Remember? GE90 is just the GE90. Even the website says that the GE90 is just for the 777. GE has produced other engines like the GECF6, if that's what you mean. "It was first introduced in November 1995 on British Airways' 777s, and is available only on the 777." -115b is used on the -200LR. If you go on Wikipedia, there is a chart that shows it's applications, they are the 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-300, 777-300F, 777-200LR, and 777-300ER. Nothing else.. regardless, they sound great!
Boeing selected GE for the 777 300ER because Rolls wouldn't participate in risk sharing for the aircraft. GE along with PW have an engine for the A380 but lost out to Rolls on market share.
They bet the company on the success of the 380. Time will tell how successful it ultimately is. Certainly it is an impressive aircraft. And to their credit, and Boeing's chagrin, their new plane actually flies.
it's actually quite smart of the two companies to go for two different types of efficiency. A380 is going to dominate on existing heavy routes with rich airports while 787 will open up efficiency for less popular routes, therefore making ticket prices cheaper and more people likely to use air travel. THey actually work in synergy to increase air travel in the future.
@Lucas5574852 Sure thats why Airfags lost the USAF 40 Billion Dollar Contract to Boeing. Only 20 Airbusses flying + their not full. But the A380 engines have a tendency to explode just like the "Comet Disaster". You have to sell 500 to break even + that not going to happen. Well that teach not to get so uppity + low class Brit in commerical tryins to sell the A380 is real joke + U be better to filll with Pakis and hope the hell they go home or to Austalia but looks like your stuck with them.
i love airbus dont get me wrong, but the A380 just goes too far. for jumbo aircraft, i choose the B747. but my range of favourite aircraft goes from A320/A330 to B777
Y saber que una de mis profesoras de colegio me tiraba los discos de Maiden a la basura porque decía que era música de inadaptados sociales y de gente sin vida!! Que idiota no?
Well said. They won't overload it and also the plane does incorporate enormous powerplants. Few planes crash by stalling these days. The fly-by wire computers prevent the aircraft reaching an unsustainable velocity in flight.
This an airliner, you do realize that this is a little bigger than a Cessna 172? There is no "in case it stalls," they just don't, period. If it isn't the non-abrupt stall of swept wings, you'll just get the stick pusher; get that in front of terrain and you'll die in any plane. And anyways, weight is irrelevant to stall recovery characteristics.
This video is incredibly bias. Its filled with factious facts. The article about Boeing vs Airbus was in the recent Wall street journal. And they were neck to neck with Airbus trailing behind.

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1)Why do we love flying?
(2) Why do we always want to build new aeroplanes?
(3) Why do we think that building new aeroplanes is a representation of our success?
(4) Why do prove the process of designing and building new aeroplanes?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

(2) Wy do we want to imagine that ocean animals can fly in the sky, especially children?
(3) Why do we like to imagine and to image aeroplanes as ocean animals? (eg. 747 = whale & 787 = dolphin)
(4) Why do we want to build an aeroplane looking like a penguin in the ocean?
(5) Why do we enjoy to image sea animals are flying at sea?

I wanna know how long it takes to board and exit the a380 aircraft. From my own experience 747 always take forever. Then there is the added wait for your luggage. Does anyone know if this has been an issue?
nfgillen 1 year ago
@nfgillen I travelled 4 times from Paris to Sydney via Dubai by Emirates with A380 and every time i was quite surprised with the length of the boarding and exit... I am pretty sure that it takes less time to board and exit a A380 than a 747, because of the two decks.
And globally, the A380 can't be comparated with the 747... It's smooth, quiet, comfortable, spacious, ... It' s awesome !

BrimfullMedia 2 years ago
You were in Heathrow? That explains a lot. Maybe we should account for nationalism?
scaremenga 2 years ago
@BrimfullMedia
Thats because the A319 and A320 cost so little and Airbus gives them away. I have flown an A320, it is an awful tin can. They use teh absolute cheapest materials. I will never command one again. Thank God I fly 777's and sometimes the 767-300.

Ok, so I realize now you are a German, or a dumb ass english perosn living in Germany. So for a German your English is pretty good - and I apologize if that is the case. Your thoughts on AirBUST though still make you a dumb ass, no matter what language you speak!

onecunningfox 2 years ago
@onecunningfox yes i'm german. so thanks for the "your english is pretty good" compliment. i do my best. but even if i love the US for things like, your big suburbs or your city centers and hate it for things like bush and the CIA. i can't find a big difference between airbus and boeing. they both suck as much as they are great sometimes. boeing sets trends for the shape of a plane and airbus is mostly more inovative. so no big difference. but please don't try to translate english into german.

jtmd11 1 year ago
the 747 has been going for more than 40 years now and like he said, has had more passengers than any other plane, that shows how successful they are. They came up with the idea of a double decker plane.

GE-90 is bigger than that Trent engine
GE-90 is on the 777s!!!!!
jzair 2 years ago
Trent is in A380 (Trent 900), B7E7 Dreamliner (Trent 1000), B777 (Trent 800), A340 (Trent 500) and A330 (Trent 700).
Trent is an engine family ;)
trainmaster0000 2 years ago
The GE90 series is on many planes. The GE90-115b is on the 777-300ER only. The engine is the largest in the world and two of them could fly the A380 or a 747 as the put out 115,000 lb of thrust each. The smaller RR/Trents, P&W's and GE90's put out an avg of 95,000 lbs. The GE90-110b puts out 110,000 lbs. the engines on the A380 only put out 80,000 each (but there are 4 of them). RR/Trent could have made a larger engine, but Boeing elected GE as the sole supplier for the 773 & I think the 747-8
onecunningfox 2 years ago
The GE-90 is on the 777, nothing else. What plane(s), if any, other than the 777 use the GE-90? That's something new.
scaremenga 2 years ago
No the GE90 series has many variations. It is just that the LAGRGEST one the GE90-115b (115b stands for 115,000 lbs of thrust) is on the 777-300ER only. Many 777-200's use the GE90-110b and other variations depending on the series model and ailrine needs.
onecunningfox 2 years ago
Hey it's you! Remember? GE90 is just the GE90. Even the website says that the GE90 is just for the 777. GE has produced other engines like the GECF6, if that's what you mean. "It was first introduced in November 1995 on British Airways' 777s, and is available only on the 777." -115b is used on the -200LR. If you go on Wikipedia, there is a chart that shows it's applications, they are the 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-300, 777-300F, 777-200LR, and 777-300ER. Nothing else.. regardless, they sound great!
scaremenga 2 years ago
Fransisco - yes it is me! You are correct, I am wrong. The 115b is on the 772-LR.
The GE90- family can only fit on the 777 anyway. See the video where they first tested the engine on a 747-100, it almost touched the ground.
onecunningfox 2 years ago
Boeing selected GE for the 777 300ER because Rolls wouldn't participate in risk sharing for the aircraft. GE along with PW have an engine for the A380 but lost out to Rolls on market share.
alRB211 2 years ago
