  • This video is incredibly bias. Its filled with factious facts. The article about Boeing vs Airbus was in the recent Wall street journal. And they were neck to neck with Airbus trailing behind. It only beat Boeing based on " orders' and the orders were not fulfilled because the customers retracted the orders after the few plane malfuctions like quantus air and similar plane have several issues including the engine disinterring in mid air.

  • Make a choice between Airbus and Boeing? I'll take both!

  • 5:08 = moment of falsehood. The most powerful and the largest engines available for any A380 variant are the RR Trent 977B (fan diameter 2.94m or about 9 feet)with thrust of 340kN or 76,000lbf. However, the larger GE90-115B (with fan diameter of 3.1m or 10 feet) generates an everyday thrust of 514kN or 115,300lbf, or a maximum of 569kN or 127,900lbf. 2 GE90's can proudly lift any 747. Bigger is indeed better, and Mr Dickinson's facts are in shambles...

  • the A380 is a disgusting excuse for a plane..the only thing Airbus was trying to do was to overtake the 747. The 787 will change everything..A380's will be in the graveyard within 10 years.

Oh, and it's the boys in Chicago.

  • @LUpilot2012 Having flown on an A380 and a 747.... Can confirm that the A380 is far more comfortable. Need to try the 787 next

  • @LUpilot2012 SIA, EK, QF, AF, LH and KE all love their A380s. If it was so irrelevant then why has EK ordered 90? You have obviously not flown on an A380. They make long haul flights to Australia much more comfortable. The idea of the A380 is what it says in the doc, at an airport like Heathrow, there is NO room to expand. The only way they can expand is through larger airliners. Heathrow isn't the only airport with congestion problems.

  • @LUpilot2012 I don't think Airbus invested 11 billion euros just to "overtake" the 747.

  • @cheesemaster1000 you mean Europe didn't invest 11 billion..Airbus is heavily funded by countries in Europe in an effort to compete and eventually "overtake" Boeing as the worlds top aircraft manufacturer.

  • @LUpilot2012 Right let's not go down that road because I think we both know all too well Boeing have been subsidised too. Remeber this news article from March? "US aircraft manufacturer Boeing received at least $5.3bn (£3.3bn) in unfair aid from Washington, the World Trade Organization (WTO) has concluded." BBC

And erm, Airbus is the largest aircraft manufacturer in the world and has been since 2004.

  • @cheesemaster1000 i'd like to know what your definition of "largest" is.

  • @omichron420 Airbus both sell and deliver more aircraft than any other manufacturer (just look at the 2011 figures, for example).

  • @cheesemaster1000 i was unawares that large and successful were the same thing.

  • @omichron420 If they are the most successful, then they are also the largest. Take Toyota, for example, they are considered the largest car manufacturer because they make more than anyone else.... same principle but with aircraft.

  • Wait until one of these bad boys falls out of the sky killing 500+ people... Not that its a piece of shit... All the terrorists around the world are salivating at pulling off a Lockerbie type job... I'm sure it is a nice plane!

  • holy shit!! i would love to fly in there. they have a bar in there!!!

  • "whole population of beligum breaking wind at once..." i like that metaphore.

  • The real competition to Dreamliner is the A350 ;)

  • @youtuverazz correct

  • Don't you just love people who never proof read the shit they write? "AN documentray about space in airliners" ... your video description fails mate. But awesome video, thanks for uploading :D

  • I think Iron Maiden scould get this airplaine! -The new "EddieLiner" :)

  • airbus os the best

  • the 747 is the original jumbo jet the queen lots of history and they did it when technology wasent its best in the 60s yet it took airbus that long to come up with the idea for a bigger jumbo? a little late there yes boeing was the first company to ever make a jumbo and thats in the books of aviation history

  • @houshidar558 They keep adding weigth to A380 to the point its become slow + hard to maneuver. RR Trent Engines have a built in defect + all of them leak oil. Quantas is sueing Airbus cuz the paid Singapore Airlines to keep it quiet + 40 Trent Engines on the 10 A380's on Quantas fleet has 2B replaced. Airbus asked General Electri to sell new GE Nex-Gen Engine for A380 + A350 and GE said sorry Boeing has exclusive rights to GE Nex-Gen Engines. Now Airbus is fucked with defective RR Trent Engine.

  • Boeing ftw.

  • i love avashon

  • boeing always out smart airbus

  • Airbus is now working on the A350 which is more along the lines of the 787.

  • @lucksterduck AIRFAGS A380 is a dangerous hunk of junk and now their leraning the Limeys, Frogs + Krauts have cut corners with the blown engine. The Europeans don't have the know how to build a safe commerical airliner and the should transport planes for cattle. Oh thats righ the A380 its Cattle Plane!

  • @lucksterduck AIRFAGS do not nothing but copy and steal Boeing designs and that so typical for drunk Limeys, Frogs and Krauts who lack the brains to build a desing of their own. It take three little European countries to build what a joke. Now you got engine blowing on take off, wow typical Airfags cut corners and who cares about the passengers!

  • @LottoWinner999 what is your problem retard? your daddy raped you again?

  • @guachipiruli Well it is reatarded that the engine blew up on take off and they say it was drunk frog, limey or Kraut mechanic who caused the new crach.

  • @LottoWinner999

are you still peddling that old engine failure on take off shit.....Breaking News, Qantas Boeing 747, Second emergency landing Second Qantas jet in engine scare....haha, by the way in case you didn't know your whole rocket program was built by the krauts, you have some serious issues

  • @donnyab i agree with you, hahaha you got every thing so right. you could not have said it better!!!

  • @LottoWinner999 Man you really have a problem. jet engine, carbon fiber, fly by wire, first commercial jet, first rocket-> EUrope Made. If the "krauts" didn't exist you would be still playing around the USA trying to break the sound barrier with piston-engine planes. Grab a book kiddo and learn some history, and stop eating McDonald's will do irreparable brain damage.

  • @flytalon Jet engine, carbon fibe, fly by wire stolen from USA Airplane Industry. U Frogs, Limeys + Krauts steal every thin U can. 1ST Liquid Fueld Rocket to exceed 500 MPH was designed + by Robert Goddard US Scientist + it was lunched in New Mexico 1n 1926. Oh, BTW Von Braun an employee at NASA'S Goddard Space Center admiited he stole Goddards design for V-2. Watch it on Utube "Rocket Pioneer Robert Goddard: A Micro-Biography Pt. 1, & 3 " Krauts R thieves + inferiority complex, tsk, tsk + tsk!

  • @LottoWinner999 And if so, why the heck the main components for the 787 in carbon fiber are made in Europe by Alenia Aeronautics, in Japan by Mitsubishi..the wings in England? Why they have so many problems? Can you explain this?

    What a kid! LOOOOOL

  • @LottoWinner999 u fags in the us stole the jet engine from us!!! Jesus u know nothing about planes u shit. A british man named sir frank whittle invented it

  • @flytalon Would U please tell me why Romanians are so stupid and complete Fuctards. U switched twice during WW2 + U wonder why no one trusts people from Romania? U were Hitler buddies and some of your leaders had porno-sex with Hitler. All Romanians are perverted preverts and your so lazy U havt to steal from others and say we did it!

    Fucking Romainian Losers!!!

  • @LottoWinner999 Si de unde stii tu asta ...as you see, te puedo mandar a tomar por el culo en drei idiomas...and you want understand a think. Romanians limited...hahahhahaha

  • @flytalon Airfags A380 a mistake and the White Elephant of the skys plus it hops like a frog, drinks like a Kraut and sucks like a Limey and Airfags Lost the 40 Billion Dollar USAF Tanker Contract!

  • @flytalon A380 Flutter Test fractured at just over Mach 1. Boeing never fracure at Mach 1.5 to Mach 2.00. U can fly on Airfags hunk of junk + workers speak 4 different languages is not safe for Aircraft manufacture. Did U see the undercarriage rip-out after Flutter Test. The Boeing 787 went Mach 1.5 with no damage. U should no better a quick bandaid is cheap solution for Airfaggerss that why i never fly on any Airfags product + plane did not achieve a real Mach 1. Afags suck dick + eat shit!

  • @flytalon flytalon is Commie turned fag capitalist, he loves Hitler, Nicolae Ceaușescu + tells every 1 he related to Vlad III, Prince of Wallachia. He is ur garden variety Nazi-Psycho + follower of the Iron Guard + ppl know he turned Jews + other over to the Nazis. He worships Hitler + Conducător Ion Antonescu + vows they will rise again. Yes flytalon is Certifiable Whacko who claims he related to King Micheal just to impress ppl + he's been locked up twice for insanity + petty crimes!

  • @LottoWinner999 how can you be commie and capitalisy>

  • @flytalon Just being plain lucky with the numbers has allowed me to become a philanthropist of history. No more of this, that, these and those are allowed here. The truth and nothing but the truth will suffice for all loyal Americans. Lets keep America and the free-world Vermin Free and be careful of the two-legged rats that have infested youtube with bottom feeding low-life's......that could actually apply to yourself.

  • @donnyab Yeah, wright.....

As a joke : Who are the only people in this galaxy which spoke just one language?

  • @donnyab or to you .....

  • stoltobot is the only one who made a mature comment.i wish more people made such comments, that way we could all learn new things.

  • With the spaciousness and ability to get out of your seat and walk around, the 380 (and others alike) open new opportunities for people who have issues with DVT and blood clot issues associated with long-term "sitting", to experience long distance air travel with less concern. In the past, doctors have ruled-out such travel for people with these associated health conditions. Definitely a step forward.

  • Thank god for Boeing and Airbus.

  • Bruce should do a program about the Antonov 225. World largest airplane.

  • a380 = Boeing 700

  • I wanna know how long it takes to board and exit the a380 aircraft. From my own experience 747 always take forever. Then there is the added wait for your luggage. Does anyone know if this has been an issue?

  • @nfgillen I travelled 4 times from Paris to Sydney via Dubai by Emirates with A380 and every time i was quite surprised with the length of the boarding and exit... I am pretty sure that it takes less time to board and exit a A380 than a 747, because of the two decks.

And globally, the A380 can't be comparated with the 747... It's smooth, quiet, comfortable, spacious, ... It' s awesome !

  • man I would have used this aircraft if I was flying 15+ hours trips...lying in the hot tub laxing

  • I had already seen this before, but it wasn't as magic cuz I didn't know who Bruce Dickinson was lol!

  • Boeing like GM and other corps from The Ulcered Sphincter of Asserica, are from bygone days You are mass consumers now no longer innovators, of stolen tech

  • Bruce sounds metal even when talking about nerd stuff.

  • it looks to me like that 747 is daddy of airbus. i mean by looks

  • UP THE IRONS!!

  • I am wondering if bruce has done any documentarys out there about planes, like narrator or pilot. Besides metal of course..

  • ive been in the A380

  • @Anders757747 i' m going in two weeks! Sydney to Los Angeles.

  • on 9fucK you

  • i thought the ge90 115b was bigger and more powerful

  • @applmac2009 yes it is..

  • @sparkzulzzz so they are lying here

  • @applmac2009 They most certainly are.. The thrust rating for each engine on the A380 is 70,000 - 80,000 lbs.. The Ge-90 115B's for the 77W is rated for 115,000lbs each.. :)

  • @sparkzulzzz dumb asses

  • @applmac2009 totally..

  • the Boeing 787 is powered by Trent 1000 not 900

  • The A380 is the ugliest airplane ever built..even the Russians build better looking airplanes than this....there is only 1 jumbo..and it's name is Boeing 747..anything else is a cheap replica.

  • youre right this guy said that boeing came up with the idea of a monster plane airbus has just copied the idea =)

  • @Chekaz1 I hope your not referencing the absolute god like legend that is Bruce Dickinson as 'this guy'!

  • History has decided that the A380 is NOT the right plane for the right market... Boeing and the US are the innovators and originators and CREATORS of aviation and all else are miserable FOLLOWERS... Get LOST

  • @jtmd11 you're right mate.

  • hahah A230 is that a new airbus plane... cos i work with them and never heard of it.... dumb ass

  • ok maybe i am a dumb ass because i made a little mistake in my commend but im still a pretty good aerospace engineering student...

  • I got a very bad mental image upon hearing Bruce mention the entire population of Belgium breaking wind...

  • Cool Bruce is the man

  • oh of course theres no point in all the security lets just do away with all of it shall we, all the baggage checks etc,it would be so much quicker and,all those annoying people trying to prevent for example,oh i dont know, somebody taking a bomb aboard,or maybe one in their shoe, thats never happened has it?! of course not whats everybody worried about??lets take off the door to the cockpit, as one would break in and stab the crew, hijack the plane and kill loads of innocent people would they?!!

  • As a passenger I do not have choice in plane than the one is docket for my fly.More I am concerned is all the stupid rules for me as a passenger .

One day there will bee all passengers chain down like a cows and transported to their destinations. There is absolutely no common sense in today security

    on airplanes.That is very sad

  • Have you forgotten 9/11.

Hello!!! They flew two Boeings into the World Trade Centre.

I'm all for security thank you!

  • i personally like boeing more safe

  • There's no evidence that boeing are 'more safe'. You might 'feel' more safe in a tradiionally controlled aircraft, but the statistics show there is no difference

  • i actually dont like A380

  • Airbus overtaking Boeing doesn't suprise me at all. I went spotting at Heathrow the other day and the plane I saw more than any other. A319. The money is In the short routes and everyone is buying Airbus for these. Very excited about flying the A380 but I love the 747, both are beautiful aircraft and I hope they both continue to prosper.

  • You were in Heathrow? That explains a lot. Maybe we should account for nationalism?

  • @BrimfullMedia

Thats because the A319 and A320 cost so little and Airbus gives them away. I have flown an A320, it is an awful tin can. They use teh absolute cheapest materials. I will never command one again. Thank God I fly 777's and sometimes the 767-300.

  • @onecunningfox lol you just don't get the idea of a small short rout plane. of course it's a tin can. like the 737.

  • @swunt10

yeah, yeah, yeah - you are so right. Your are the know-it-all smart arse youtube pro.

I have flown for 18 years. What do you think, I walked in as a rookie and they said, "here fly our 777"? I have flown/fly Embraer/737/757/A300/767/777. Anyhow, the point is the A320/19 are still a piece of crap and the cheapest planes ever made. The A300 was great, A330 is ok, the rest are crap too incl the A380. As for the 737, it is EXPENSIVE for a reason, ITS NOT AN AIRBUST TIN CAN.

    Dont reply

  • @onecunningfox LOL idiot

  • @onecunningfox you should watch this watch?v=IKBABNL-DDM&feature=related

  • @onecunningfox and i also want mention that the cabin width is bigger in a a230 than in a b737. sorry. and "Dont reply". hahaha

  • @swunt10

Did you even go to school you stupid cunt, sorry, I mean swunt?

You wrrte like an inbecile and probably speak like a dumb cunt. Next time you fly, stay in your seat and dont put your feet on the upholstry. Pick up your trash and wipe the wash basin for the next passenger.

    - Fox

  • @swunt10

...that said, as fate would have it, I mis-typed the word "write" in my last reply.

You are still a dumb ass though.

    No reply please.

  • @swunt10

You probably didn't even notice though you are such an idiot...as is evidenced by the way you not only think, but write as well.

  • Ok, so I realize now you are a German, or a dumb ass english perosn living in Germany. So for a German your English is pretty good - and I apologize if that is the case. Your thoughts on AirBUST though still make you a dumb ass, no matter what language you speak!

My views are based in experience, not nationalism - like you and your "ami's" in Toulouse.

Die A400M ist eine katastrophe. Auch Deutschland hat genug davon hatte, überraschend.

Achten sie darauf, und fliegen Boeing.

    I tried :o)

  • @onecunningfox yes i'm german. so thanks for the "your english is pretty good" compliment. i do my best. but even if i love the US for things like, your big suburbs or your city centers and hate it for things like bush and the CIA. i can't find a big difference between airbus and boeing. they both suck as much as they are great sometimes. boeing sets trends for the shape of a plane and airbus is mostly more inovative. so no big difference. but please don't try to translate english into german.

  • You made me laugh. I wont try to translate. Das ist in ordenum!

    Take care.

  • @swunt10 You shouldnt hate the USA because Bush. I love Germany in spite Hittler.

  • @ParadiseIsForever I'd love Bush even more if he was like Hitler - dead since 1945.

  • I'm curious..are you actually flying or riding in the planes mentioned??..how do you fly the 777 AND the 767-300 "sometimes". No airline has Pilots checked out on more than one type at any time...757/767 share a common rating, but I don't believe the 767/777 do.

  • the 747 has been going for more than 40 years now and like he said, has had more passengers than any other plane, that shows how successful they are. They came up with the idea of a double decker plane.

  • 14 inches wider than a 747, who cares

  • GE-90 is bigger than that Trent engine

    GE-90 is on the 777s!!!!!

  • Trent is in A380 (Trent 900), B7E7 Dreamliner (Trent 1000), B777 (Trent 800), A340 (Trent 500) and A330 (Trent 700).

Trent is an engine family ;)

  • The GE90 series is on many planes. The GE90-115b is on the 777-300ER only. The engine is the largest in the world and two of them could fly the A380 or a 747 as the put out 115,000 lb of thrust each. The smaller RR/Trents, P&W's and GE90's put out an avg of 95,000 lbs. The GE90-110b puts out 110,000 lbs. the engines on the A380 only put out 80,000 each (but there are 4 of them). RR/Trent could have made a larger engine, but Boeing elected GE as the sole supplier for the 773 & I think the 747-8

  • The GE-90 is on the 777, nothing else. What plane(s), if any, other than the 777 use the GE-90? That's something new.

  • No the GE90 series has many variations. It is just that the LAGRGEST one the GE90-115b (115b stands for 115,000 lbs of thrust) is on the 777-300ER only. Many 777-200's use the GE90-110b and other variations depending on the series model and ailrine needs.

  • Hey it's you! Remember? GE90 is just the GE90. Even the website says that the GE90 is just for the 777. GE has produced other engines like the GECF6, if that's what you mean. "It was first introduced in November 1995 on British Airways' 777s, and is available only on the 777." -115b is used on the -200LR. If you go on Wikipedia, there is a chart that shows it's applications, they are the 777-200, 777-200ER, 777-300, 777-300F, 777-200LR, and 777-300ER. Nothing else.. regardless, they sound great!

  • Fransisco - yes it is me! You are correct, I am wrong. The 115b is on the 772-LR.

The GE90- family can only fit on the 777 anyway. See the video where they first tested the engine on a 747-100, it almost touched the ground.

  • Boeing selected GE for the 777 300ER because Rolls wouldn't participate in risk sharing for the aircraft. GE along with PW have an engine for the A380 but lost out to Rolls on market share.

  • They bet the company on the success of the 380. Time will tell how successful it ultimately is. Certainly it is an impressive aircraft. And to their credit, and Boeing's chagrin, their new plane actually flies.

  • Im afraid Boeing have one this time, the 7E7 is just what people want. And not a gay side-stick in site.

  • wow thats is huge.............

  • jajajaja, bruce dickinson es una mamada

  • ACES HIGH!

  • this A380 is the biggest flop ever. i'm not saying it's not a good machine.

it's just BS, it's never replacing smaller planes.

  • @thedayitriedtodie why sould it? that was never the question.

  • korean air prolly gonna buy a380 cause of the comet 1st class ideas =P

btw the best plane would be the cockpit of the boeing 747 with the cabin of the a380

  • Wow! The A380 is trying to bring back the old days of air travel.

  • 2:44

    jajajaja like a mother

  • it's actually quite smart of the two companies to go for two different types of efficiency. A380 is going to dominate on existing heavy routes with rich airports while 787 will open up efficiency for less popular routes, therefore making ticket prices cheaper and more people likely to use air travel. THey actually work in synergy to increase air travel in the future.

  • @stoltobot Awesome comment and so true

  • @stoltobot

Airbus is creating the A350 to compete with the 787 and Boeing is creating the

747-800 to compete with the A380. Airbus and Boeing will always be in

    competition...

  • @Lucas5574852 Sure thats why Airfags lost the USAF 40 Billion Dollar Contract to Boeing. Only 20 Airbusses flying + their not full. But the A380 engines have a tendency to explode just like the "Comet Disaster". You have to sell 500 to break even + that not going to happen. Well that teach not to get so uppity + low class Brit in commerical tryins to sell the A380 is real joke + U be better to filll with Pakis and hope the hell they go home or to Austalia but looks like your stuck with them.

  • boeing should have patented the "moster plane" idea

  • wow its so big i cant belive that it can fly!

  • That is exactly the same thing people said when the first 74 rolled out.

  • @mim929 Thats what people staring in awe at the 747 first thought about the 747

  • @mim929 Thats what people who saw t]he 747 take-off only 41 years ago

  • nothing beats the 747-400 the best plane in the world!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • damn...wish I had roller-skating skills like Bruce...

  • i love airbus dont get me wrong, but the A380 just goes too far. for jumbo aircraft, i choose the B747. but my range of favourite aircraft goes from A320/A330 to B777

  • i like airbus 380 better that 330-340

  • He is not ugly

  • Planes and ship are shes.

  • not all of them :d

  • Planes and ship are like women, so let's call her a she.

  • theres way more production time and parts going into the a380

  • Bruce is definately a Boeing man

  • A bit surprised to see them get some vital facts incorrect. Example, the Trent 900 is not the biggest jet engine in the world, the GE 90-115B is.

  • he sAid biggest front fan engine

  • Still, the 115B is bigger. Bigger fan diameter, more thrust. There's no confusion about it.

  • it swallows a squash court of air every second... thats like the whole country of belgium breaking wind! lol

  • does anyone know the intro song?

  • if only you could skate around in a plane, haha, wud certainly make those transatlantic flights abit more interesting

  • Imagine being on skates during takeoff and landing! absolute carnage

  • 2:40 ? HAHAHA

  • Y saber que una de mis profesoras de colegio me tiraba los discos de Maiden a la basura porque decía que era música de inadaptados sociales y de gente sin vida!! Que idiota no?

  • en serio? XD

  • bruce dickinson the coolest guy ever

  • The most powerful engine is the General Electric GE-90.

  • Exactly.. no idea where they're getting this information so wrong, but it's a little embarrassing!

  • Well said. They won't overload it and also the plane does incorporate enormous powerplants. Few planes crash by stalling these days. The fly-by wire computers prevent the aircraft reaching an unsustainable velocity in flight.

  • what if the airbus a380 stalls it wont get the speed back quick because of all the stuff fuell passengers stuff in plane baggadge

  • well....they wont overload it...

  • This an airliner, you do realize that this is a little bigger than a Cessna 172? There is no "in case it stalls," they just don't, period. If it isn't the non-abrupt stall of swept wings, you'll just get the stick pusher; get that in front of terrain and you'll die in any plane. And anyways, weight is irrelevant to stall recovery characteristics.

  • the best plane show host:P

  • lol.

    Iron Maiden.

  • I believe that the A380 is pretty cool, and I feel lucky to have seen one fly by, but the 747 is still my favorite :D

  • ive flown in the a380, and i will always love 747!

  • this video is really old. lol 7E7??? A380 not yet built? Airbus dominating Boeing? Wayyy outdated.

  • Yeah, 4 years is sooooooooooooo old isn't it
