Hey can you guys help me out, many lyrics say that the first track goes "hey baby, woo oh, it's outta sight", but it doesn't sound right.I hear: "hey baby, woo oh, yea-he-he in house", which doesn't make sense.
I'm STILL groovin' on that 'Pootang Shebang' to this day! My favorite ride on GTA1 is the Itali GTB in Vice City, and everytime I would jack one, 'Poontang Shebang' would be on the radio. So as I raced by the beaches of Vice City, not only was my "new" car jammin' but so was my music! Thanks for posting, man.
this game might not have had the best graphics n all that, but the soundtrack made this game original, and a classic! just listening thru sum of these tracks are bringing back memories!
Everybody's saying they were 5 and 7 and all that when they first picked up GTA. What a weird feeling that must be. I was 20 when the first one came out. Gooooooooood memories!
yeah i was 9 when it came out. and my older brother lent me his psx and didnt really check what games he gave me....i found this and i didnt really know what it was about until i played it more. then iv been into gta ever since. gta 2 is my favorite though
Heh that's kinda funny. I remember when the first GTA came out and I read a tiny preview for it in PSX magazine. I thought it sounded so incredible, so cool and different. So I hopped in my car and drove all over 3 towns for weeks trying to find it. Finally I found it in another state, and when I at last saw it sitting behind the glass case at Target, I was filled with giddy excitement.
Quite the different stories, which is interesting.
I'd say GTA1, San Andreas, and 4 are my favorites.
haha. yeah we all have our ways of getting into it. id never heard of it until i found it in that box. it was relativly new as well. about a month after it came out i found it
i see you have more than one favorite? my favorites would be gta 2, gta 3 then gta 1...the other games i just like and enjoy.. but those i enjoy the most
I guess I can't pick a single favorite because each one of them is a great game, so my favorite is usually whichever one the newest one is. But when I separate my current feelings with the nostalgic feelings, and if I had to pick the one game out of all that I love most, it would probably be the first. I played it more than any except SA, and though they keep getting complex and realistic, back then the simplicity and freedom were all I needed to have a great time.
yeah, i do love how you can just go cause some trouble so simply in the older games. the newer gtas are nice and all, but i will never leave behind the old ones. i have never really stopped playing them so nostalgia, kinda doesnt exist for me hah
but yeah i just hope gta doesnt get too serious and complex. whatever the case it still needs that mindless mayhem and wacky action from time to time
Yes I totally agree. I appreciate how cinematic and narrative the new games are, but there's something special about the first 2. Just going to a telephone for missions from anonymous crime lords and then being free to go wreak havoc how you see fit made it such a simple, somehow more personal experience. And call me an old-school purist, but I'd still love it if they programmed an optional overhead view to the new ones.
indeed, i was wondering why after gta 3, they took it out....im tired of just the same old backside view of my guys arse. i dont see much use for cinematic view...the other views are just different zooms forthird person...not really different views too much
I agree, I can't imagine anyone can even play in cinematic view. I guess I admit that in GTA3 I used the main view way more than the classic, but that's because it was such a new experience. Now I'd definitely like to have it back.
But really, that's one of the reasons I came to this video clip- I think the music just stands out more in the first GTA games. They were independent and "fresh". Somehow I think GTA1 had the best atmosphere thanks to the soundtrack.
yeah, it was all unknown or little known, or even made the developers. i did think in recent games that all this music weve heard before just got tiresome. and with gta 1 and 2 it seems...the music was just....a bit different. its nice to listen to it
Yeah, it's very different, very catchy. Somehow it just fit. This soundtrack and the CHART one are my favorites. They just sound so natural as GTA cruising music.
I just gone doing some digging and I found out that pretty much the entire soundtrack is by a Rockstar in-house musician named Craig Conner. I don't know who each vocal artist is, but apparently Conner is responsible for the music.
I'm glad to finally know who's responsible for all these fake bands, but now it sucks that he's not a guy whose music I can go out and buy a CD of!
haha yeah that kinda does suck. more of that work would be pretyt nice. he did some for gta 2 also
but still since they are fake bands, it is indeed a bit of a shame you cant just go and buy the music and and stuff. and no new material will come out. but still the music lives on and people still appreciate it
Very true. I'd just like to be able to own this music and be able to listen to it without the radio station bumps and chatter. Although it definitely lends atmosphere and wouldn't feel right without it I suppose.
He did some music for GTA2? I thought that was the first game that used underground music. I'll have to go back and play through that one again. It was a great game, I can't really think of why it's the one I played the least.
I forgot the "rude" button. I forgot that in the first GTA there was actually a button that did nothing but make your character fart and burp for no reason. Maybe the critics who said the game was made just to be offensive had a point...
Still love it though, always did. It's my favorite along with San Andreas and GTA4.
Yeah i seem to remember playing this when i was about 5, and then all of sudden i was playing it on my own pc at about 9/10, and very true C&C Doom, Quake, Sin,Duke Nukem 3d, Tombstone,Rise of the triads, Shadow Warrior, Raptor call of the shadows, Transport tycoon deluxe, theme hospital were all amazing games, i seem to remember when i was younger all games being relativly awesome, now i would say games of this generation are alot less epic than all of them :D
The best game soundtrack ever. I'd love to get guitar and bass tabs for this funky track.
