  • Dude you really shouldn't worry about negative comments. Just delete them or something, honestly. You don't have to complain about it, 'cause everybody gets them.

  • @rezellehime Thanks for the advice, but I don't like to delete comments. It would feel like I'm just running away from them. I'd rather face people and their negativity than be as ignorant as the people posting them. Notice that as soon as the strike was over, people stopped commenting though.. haha. Shows how much they really care about the issue.

  • I am part of the KSD, as a student and this is totally getting on my last fucking nerve.

  • Yeah look at me, im someone who was going to green river for running start program last year, and know is trying to go Running start half time. However i cant get this shit organised beause of these faggot teachers. They basically ruined my whole fuckin life

  • i know the teachers r being gay

  • 0:36 he says im on strike

i am on strike cause the teachers r on strike

    down with the teachers yay

    look i am a jackass 2!!

  • LOL kitfett so true

  • id rather have an extra hour of school a day than hw

  • hurray im kinda enjoying no school it makes it alot easier to practice school sports at full potential now that we didnt have 7 frickin hours of crap to go through since 7 in the morning and then 2 hours of homework afterwards school would be tight without all the homework

  • LoL I completely agree

  • u agree with me yay

  • this is my school!

  • There is open enrollment at Liberty in the Issaquah school district.

  • i want school to start. the teachers and state should decide something. parents might be taking there kids out of the district and than there smaller classes

  • The teachers could have just gone with what the judge told them to do, which was go back to work today, but that would just be saying that the teachers wasted there time picketing because so far, NOTHING HAS GOTTEN DONE! They could go back to work but they will be back out there next year and the next until the district stops being greedy. KSD, not the teachers, are the ones keeping the kids from finally starting school because they absolutely refuse to negotiate.

  • ok, so I myself am not supporting the teachers. I am aa student in the KSD, but want to get back. Plus what you are doing is totally illegal and you could get fined or have jail time. you should also think about the families that have parents not working to be home with the kids or are having to spend extra money for daycare that is what you guys should look at besides classes

  • Yes I agree with you that students want to go back. I have graduated but my younger friends have just had enough of summer already, LoL. But the teachers do want to go back as well. They just have a strong enough will to not put up with the district. As soon as things get sorted out, the students, teachers, and families will be much happier. The district is the one forcing school to go back because they refuse to negotiate, but you know the saying, "things must get worse before they get better".

  • i have to hear those car honking for a very long time during that day

  • we go to skool on the 9th woohoo!!!! i can't wait, i recongnize some of my teachers lol 1 for sure is my use-to-be band teacher

  • We go to school the day after Labor Day.

  • Actually some are refusing to go back

  • Hello? Thats what the judge had ruled. If they don't listen they will get arrested.

  • Actually they will not get arrested if the teachers all take a vote to keep striking. My mom is at the meeting right now as I type, and she tells me that it looks like they are going to vote against the judge.

  • We're Green River Community College's student newspaper. Could we talk about your footage of the rally outside of KSD?

  • ask for more money but tell the school board you want to be paid every month, it works for the broward teachers.

  • they have everyday we have off except 4 the teacherworkshop days

  • Guys I am getting really tired of all these negative comments. If you have an issue with the strike, or the KSD, bring your concerns to another place. Leaving rude comments on a video on Youtube is not the right place. I have not insulted anyone who has left a rude comment, but I really do not appreciate them. Please take your complaints somewhere else. Thank you.

  • My mom is a teacher in the KSD who is on strike right now, and one thing they are getting downright tired of is people calling them greedy. If they really wanted more money, they would get another job. A much better paying job. But they want to be teachers, they want to help the kids, and they want to teach them so that they will learn, not so that their time with students is cut out. That is their main goal.

I would also appreciate if you could not generalize all Americans.

  • That is exactly right. Not once have the teachers on strike stated that it's about the money for them. In fact, it's the exact opposite! They are trying to make the district stop being so greedy! If any of you, which I highly doubt, have even read into this strike at all, the district has been keeping money that should go into educating the taxpayer's children. They have been doing it for years and now the teachers are forcing them to stop running the educational system like a business.

  • bullshit!

being on strike gets them even less money

  • Ksd teachers jsut a bunch of winps that cant handle pay like the rest of the world

  • are you reponding to my comment or kitfett3345's?

  • i know

  • U WILL KNOW NOTHING AND WILL LIKE IT.

  • WTF do they want a reward for haveing a lot os days off

    GOOD JOB-NOT

  • Not a penny more for incompetent teachers!

  • Good for them! The educational system is quickly getting out of control. As a former student in the KSD, I don't remember having a class with less than 28-30 students. We were always told to email teachers because there simply wasn't enough time to talk in person to everyone. This isn't limited to just Kent, teacher strikes have been going on all across the Seattle area for the past several years. Maybe this is an indication that something is not working, eh?

  • what THEY are doing is trying too make it better for the rest of the students that do not get what time they need too succeed. if it was all money, then every single teacher would have another job. MONEY is not the main reason. They are trying too help, and this is the only time too do it. if done in the summer, they would not have much of a job too strike on in the first place, nothing would happen. Hurting? more like finally doing something in the first place, and your whining isn't

  • I wish I could strike at my job and get 10% higher but I don't have a job.

  • this is why i hate teachers

  • I see myself :D

  • Teachers know the estimated pay before they take the job. If you don't like what's offered don't work at that job. Teachers going on strike hurts families and children. The teachers in Kent are selfish and have shown no regard for caring for the children they claim to want to help, but have instead shown greed and disrespect for Kent families.

  • Not all of the people there are teachers, Kent families as well as students showed up to support our teachers. Our community was on the teacher's side because they, unlike you, saw that teachers were striking to help our students. You said "Teachers know the estimated pay before they take the job. If you don't like what's offered don't work at that job." Which is exactly what they are doing. Many teachers have been laid off, paychecks have been slashed, and student time reduced. They had enough.

  • Because I believe teachers should teach instead of holding signs to demand more money I no longer qualify to be a part of the Kent community? That's mature.

FORCING students to, in some cases, stay home ALONE because their family can't afford extended summer programs isn't HELPING students. Making families choose between making money for bills or staying home to watch the kids isn't helping anyone. Kent is a poorer community then most. Living costs are lower, average income is lower for EVERYONE

  • There are pros and cons to any kind of debate, but I am not going to continue to argue with you about Kent and the strike. If you have issues with whats going on, why don't you bring your concerns to someone who can offer you some insight, rather than continue to leave rude comments on a simple video recording I took.

  • Oh man that's a lot of people.

  • Good Job!!! From a Kent Teacher!!

  • Thanks! :D
