The word "Park" and "Baagh" came from Persian/Iranian language meaning garden, in Iran all homes were surrounded by gardens and they usually had a "Hoze" or pond with blue tile floor and walls and a few gold fish. The name "Paradise" or Heaven also came from Farsi describing the ultimate environment to live.

when i was younger and heard "hanging garden" i assumed there were platforms with gardens on them suspended in midair by thousands of ropes or chains. Why didnt they just call it Ziggurat garden of babylon

maybe. But if the Gardens actually "hung" in midair i think it would take lots and lots of strong ropes or chains that held them up in the air......

And they were platforms that people could walk on and grow fruits and vegetables.
