Anyone notice how he advocates dropping th shuttle first, before beginning the swing and then at 1min...started swinging WAY before dropping...What a tit
NO. You hold the shuttlecock with MORE THAN TWO FINGERS because it is MORE STABLE. You would hold it by sort of cupping it in your hand around most of the feathers (like a bottle like someone else said). 2 fingers is for the backhand serve, where the shuttle is hit quickly with no drop to the racquet. Go watch a singles tournament if you want proof.
Only grip by the feathers in backhand serve where u dont need to drop the bird straight down. Also none of the important points in executing a good high underarm serve were addressed...
This is ALL WRONG !!! You don't hold the shuttle with 2 fingers when using the forehand side high serve but hold it within you palm instead, like holding a beer bottle. Take a look at how the professional players do it !
@nltung i agree entirely with you!in doing a flick serve or a backhand serve, people hold the feather tip.
the reason for the different holdings is to make it easier to hit the shuttle head instead of the feathers.
but here in his video, he is hitting the head since he is not a beginner and he knows how to release the shuttle such that it just fall down straight instead of tumbling down. the pro hold it with the palm cos logically it is easier to drop it straight. u get what i mean =D.
@superlativefps okay if that's true then i understand but it looked a lot like he missed
