The Portico will be called Sonata Touring. It wont be called Portico when it goes on sale in the US. This will fill the slot the Azera will leave as the Azera will mostly likely be discontinued.

The side view mirrors are outdated compared to the new changes going on at Hyundai. The Sideview Mirrors should be leaf shaped to reflect the other changes going on.

By the way Hyundai is becoming "the Cheap Gas Sipping Luxury" They want to do to Luxury cars what Toyota did to Econo cars.

That is provide a lower cost luxury car like Chrysler does today, but makes them have the fuel efficiency and reliablity we all expect out of a Hyundai.

KIA will be the cheap performance brand now.

Hyundai will have ultra Fuel Efficient options as standard. KIA will have performance spec stuff as standard. KIA youll have to pay extra for better fuel eifficiency, while at Hyundai you'll have to pay extra for performance.

I bought a Tucson, which I thought was great then a new 08 Santa Fe. I hated Hyundais a few years back. But they've won me over, with reliable cars that look cool. The santa fe is well designed and looks cooler than a lot of other SUVs that's why I bought it. I was gonna go for Jeep Patriot until I read the reliability reviews Jeep gets. So I went for the Hyundai and I'm not disappointed. I was able to see passed the "we use to make shit cars" thing. Hyundai have come a long way.

I never driven a hyundai until I test drove the shit of a 06/07 V6 Sonata and from that day forward I was a believer. It's got a good engine, tranny, and cornered hard with the traction and stability control. Hyundais run!

What bothers me are people that still believe Hyundai is an alternative and not the "real deal". How long is it going to take until we stop hearing "they're almost there" in things like car reviews and actually hear "they're finally there?" There's such a negligible difference between a Hyundai and a "more established brand" that I think the only way they can improve now is to cure cancer.

scott, i concede the koreans have made a rapid improvement in their cars, just like the japanese did and how the chinese will in a few years.

however, you cannot expect a korean brand in its few existing years, to compete head-to-head with the best, established brands in things like making light-weight cars, leading in design, or creating brand cache.

maybe a low price and a good warranty gets you props, but it aint everything.
