Why does anyone need a gun? Is the right to bear arms really worth it when morons like this guy can get a hold of them. It's just sickening. Do you think when the constitution was written they ever dreamed the world would be in the sahpe it is today. Think about it!

A restraining order SHOULD NOT bar the right to bear arms. That is an infringement of the Constitution.

If you do not want your right to bear arms taken away, then do not abuse your partner. It is pretty simple.
Domestic violence is NOT acceptable behavior, and should have consequences. Taking away the right to bear arms isn't the consequence, a weekend in jail is the only consequence, making it an "acceptable crime" with a slap on the hand. Taking away firearms is a safety measure to prevent deaths, further trauma, and fear for the victim.
