I think this is the '77 line up from heavy weather with jaco,but this track is from the '76 album black market with alphonso johnson on bass and chester thompson on drums. I think weather report are the most true world music and all done 35 years ago, amazing.R.I.P. Joe.

say what you want about Jaco he was always pushing the envelope in bold new ways, Shorter is shorter to the point, apparent chaos coalesces into perfection, he even cracks a really quick kind of smile at about 5:30 lol

That last part it's all black keys for the keyboard (Eb-Gb-Ab-Bb-Db-Eb) but for a brief moment it seems like bass is playing (E-G-A-B-D-E) are the bass strings lowered by a half step or the keyboard transposed half step up or is it my imagination?

I don't see where Jaco is playing that. However, if he was, it would be to create dissonance. I don't believe that jaco played in alternate tunings.
