It first started out with a tax increase for people making $250,000 or more, then it changed to $200,000, then it changed to $150,000, and now it is down to $120,000. These are figures that Biden and other democrats have been saying, and not the Republicans. Probably by tomorrow it will be down to $80,000.

What I am MUCH more concerned about is checks and balances. If Obama wins, and both the senate and house go democrat super majority, Obama will have carte blanche. I am a Canadian who watched Obama last night with an optimism not felt since the early days of the JFK presidency. Non-Americans have endured the past 8 years with a sense of sadness & dismay as the US beacon of hope became a cloud of darkness. Obama's wisdom, compassion, inclusiveness and sincerity rise head & shoulders above the hatred and divisiveness of his opponents. His presidency will be inspirational, and through it both the US and the world will heal, and reason will trump despair.

FiFi - If you had one ounce of education, rather than the curry Kool-Aid that you have ingested, you would know that Gov. Pailin does not "Coddle" oil companies. That would be too much for an Ospamanite to compute. Sen. McCain is not perfect, granted. Sen. Obama is so unknown that it is dangerous to even consider him for office. He truthfully could not work for the FBI or CIA that you want him to oversee. You might want to get used to having less of everything you hold dear.

I've never seen Marxist envy toward the wealthy so elegantly packaged for deceiving the general public. Obama will lead this country the way of Cuba, Venezuela, and the failed Soviet Union. You mean the rich, who take advantage of the disadvantaged in society. Not saying that all rich people do that, but you can't say that all poor are lazy and all rich are hardworking. In North America, we like to SAY that anyone can go from rags to riches, but unless your lucky it takes money to begin with.

I'm talking about the "shit" that is included in his proposed plan. Spending only 2 years in the Senate while leaving an empty seat in the Senate for another 2 years doesn't help at all. That is one less vote in the Senate which could make or break a law on Captiol Hill. He could have been giving all of us "hope" and promoting "change" by doing his duty as a legislator instead of talking about it.
