  • omg my friends and I at school put a pencil in the mircowave and it does that too but then it started to smell sooo we stop it and a teacher almost caught us doing that XD

  • hell yeah

  • you superheated the graphite and made plasma!

  • fuck this man. i tried it and it set on fire!!!!! after that my whole house wreaked!!!!

  • i test it !! the plasma is great !!

  • Microwave disco :◗ yaay

  • you guys are fucking retarded it is the meatal tip at the end

  • Graphite isn't a metal....

  • It's a carbon.

  • Which is a metalloid.

  • I did this WAYYY back in 6th grade(Funny how i remember it)with two other kids First I wante dot see what would happen. and it was one of those pencils that go to a lighter color when there hot. Some Retarted kid was like "I bet itll turn white" So I put it in the microwave and After about 10 seconds BOOM the pencil EXPLODES And the door of the microwave BLEW OFF.Holy hell there was led everywhere, the microwave was totaled. I loved how pissed off my hippy teacher was afterwards It was great.

  • sounds fun :)

  • nice!

  • It appears that microwaves have an unusual effect on carbon. Was it really producing plasma?

  • i think the obvious reason it dus this is the fact that pencil has lead in it (obviousli lol) and its metal....i aint a physician so i dno why it dus it lol

  • i thnk wt hapens is the graphite in the pencil heats up so that it sets fire to the wood aand then the flames ionise and create plasma.... i think :P

  • *does, obviously, it's, physicist, don't, does

Now that that's out of the way...it's graphite, not lead...which is a nonmetal.

  • the pencil doesn't contain 100% graphite. There is also lead in the mixture (tried some electric tests on those 2 years ago with one of my teacher).

Try passing current through a pencil lead. It will smoke, burn and fall apart. Do the same thing with pure graphite, and it will only get really really hot.

  • lol a physician is a doctor lmfao!

  • But even if it is graphite as a non-metal, it is leading electricity because of its atomar structure. But only in one direction.

  • @howielad123 Its Graphite, lead is poisonous to touch

  • Yeah I just figured out that pencils did this, but you beat me to posting it, anyway I think its probably because the graphite in the pencil conducts the microwaves really well, I've tried it without the graphite but it didn't work.

  • Yes FUNN FOR SIMPLE MINDED RETARDS DA HARRRRRRRRRRRRr

  • Lol look at my video, i put a packet of crisp in a microwave hahah! :D

  • Hmm, how come at 11 seconds everything randomly jumps?

  • Ha ha! I had no idea pencils would do that!
